My guess? Given development times at GM, I'd guess it would have been the updated FWD "Mid-Lux" cars or the Buick & Chevy version RWD Sigma-Lite cars (before GM abandoned the program) or something that might have been an early NA-Zeta.
Chi cars maybe?

Chi is likely going to be the FWD/AWD replacement for the "W" and mid-lux chassis due sometime around the turn of the decade.

The RWD chassis GM-NA is piecing together doesn't yet have a name beyond the "Sigma-Volume" or "Sigma-lite" internal reference.

Guy, I meant maybe the Chi cars were what the Lacrosse concept and SS concept were hinting at. Both had coke bottle shapes and both divisions will have a Chi car.

No comment, Guy?

Or just haven't asked the right people yet?

At the time the SS was out, I was told it was a "cartoon version" of a production car under development, but also carried design elements that would be showing upon other Cheverolets in the future.

Since that car was displayed, there's been some pretty serious changes at GM design, so I'd imagine alot of the design the SS was supposed to preview has been changed, but you still see quite a few bits from the SS.

The SS's grille is becoming Chevy's new trademark grille (minus the chrome). The bodywork is very close to the car Chevrolet was showing at car clinics that one person here went to and wrote a detailed description on what he saw (probally the Monte Carlo replacement). The tail lights are are on the Cobalt, and will likely end up again on another car in the near future. The side vent was a C6 proposal by one account.

Don't know anything about the interior, though.

RP came out and bluntly said the SS wasn't Camaro.

As for the Buick, I really didn't follow it. Since it had much the same body lines, I believe it was to be a vehicle based on the same chassis as the car the SS was supposed to represent.

Fbod just might take a crack on that one, since it deals with a old concept car that's not likely to see production today.
