Do u think this could be a possibility as a base engine for the 5th gen?
Market the SS anyway you want....but upgrades like wheels, etc., shouldn't be restricted from the the Z/28 thereby devaluing it (thanks WERM),in order to justify the SS as a premium package.
I wonder if the "SS package" were ever offered on a V6, if it would sell....I'd bet that it would!
...and Branden, speaking of confusion and gaining nothing...I think Chevy has demonstrated it has no problems creating those conditions with the current line-up.
Don't worry ....people your age will have plenty of time for disinformative propaganda de-programing by the time we see a 5th gen.

Z284, I agree!! That could be great idea!! SS appearance option for V6. Appearance is all it is anyway.
GuionM, thats the way it should be. The models should be distinctly different than the others. Theres no sense in having a Z28 (which is supposed to be a Special Performance Option) that isn't faster than an appearance option, that doesn't even appear to be much different. IMO the whole Z28 and SS thing that started in the later 4th was just wrong and did absolutly no good for them except cause stupid BS and the devaluing of the real Camaro top model. What if they came out with a top Corvette SS, (I so hope that doesn't happen) what would be the sense of having a slower Z06 that people associate with the top Corvette?? Or if they came out with a Firebird WS6 Ram Air that was the top model over the Trans Am?? See what I mean?? Its idiocy and causes confusion and less sales IMO.
F79, most do not think that way even still. Every1 knows that Z28 has been the top Camaro model for so many years and should be over the SS and the few years it was here. People will like having Z28 as top model again, I guarantee it. It only makes sense. And they need to start making sense again.
Anyway, I just hope the base engine in a 5th will be faster than the M*****gs.
