Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
and Ford has the Monte Carlo covered with both the Freestar and the FiveHundred...
and Mazda has the Vette covered with the Miata...
and Maytag has Whirlpool covered with the... oh nevermind!
Oh geez.
My folks taught me "If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say nothin' at all."
I'll put that to use now.

Whats thats cobalt suppose to be a srt4 kinda thing? Saw some show w/ lutz at a car show a while back...all he could talk about was hopped up 4 cyclinder GM models...I think Chevys guilty of getting caught up in the sport compact thing...wheres on the other hand ford is still putting out some badass v8's....I dunno

It just goes to show that Camaro has been dead for more like 10+ years. Those who were trusted to protect it and make it thrive, were not to be trusted with it.
They just didn't care. They just had zero passion for it.

Sadly you just nailed it right on the head. Only a few inside the general seemed to have passion for this car, Its a shame really. I hope those dedicated few can get something going, like a few special people inside of ford did for the thunderbird. If not, I can see a 30 year slumber for this auto legend.
Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
I can guarantee you that no-one in holden from the intoductory aprentice to the CEO are this clueless ... they are all car enthusiast people to the core.
maybe thats why lutz knows who to entrust with the upcoming RWD cars..

Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
I agree, Holden really seems to know their stuff. Look at their website. Is there a FWD car on their models list? Last time I checked... there wasn't but that was about 6 months ago so someone correct me if that has changed. The Torana was sweet, minus the "man-genta" paint. Look at the SSX, it's friggin sweet. These guys have passion for RWD V8 vehicles, which is something seemingly lacking within GM. I dunno what's going on anymore and it's pissing me off because I KEEP THE FAITH every single day. If there isn't a Camaro to buy, and I can't afford a Vette, and don't like any of the other GM vehicles, I'll be buying myself a nice bike. Not a crotch rocket, a good ol' fashioned Lance Armstrong bike. Some of you UNFAITHFUL disappoint and disgust me.
Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
Why be pissed, what can you do? Drive all the Camaro's ever produced down to GM headquarters and demand the production of a fifth gen?
We sent letters to GM. Apparently that flopped. The Z06 pics were leaked, so those of us who are faithful have less to go on cause GM slammed the book shut when those embargoed pics were posted.
Who cares right now anyway... I just need to pass my chem final.

-We need to be pissed - and let people at GM know we're pissed. Case and point is our man Campbell (former Camaro Brand Manager). Wait patiently and happily for him, and he may hand you a FWD Monte Carlo LT...and think it's a worthy Camaro replacement.
They need to know we're pissed!
-From the people I talk to at GM, the Z06 thing seems to have been a non-event. We've made a bigger deal out of it than they have.
-I always hated chem.

Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
I sent my letter in to that Jackass. I basically just stated in my letter that Chevy has no mustang like product. As nice as the Monte and Cobalt SS may be, the only thing they have in common with the Mustang is 2 doors. RWD & V8 power with choice of manual or automatic at an affordable price is what draws people to the Mustang. I stressed that RWD is VERY important to GMs enthusists.
Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
If this Campbell guy thinks the Monte SS and Cobalt SS are pony cars, then I consider my dad's old Astro van to be a high performance SUV!!!!
To think, this guy was managing GM's performance cars!!!WTF!!!!

Re: "Chevy isn't afraid of Mustang....."
I know this bonehead has to say something but jeez, in this situation, I believe saying nothing is the best bet. Maybe even a "there are things coming......." or a "we dont have it quite covered........yet" would work a little better and generate some interest. Comparing those nameplates just makes Chevy look even worse.

I hope this is fixed with the 5th gen. We dont need people running the show for our car who could care two $hits less for it.

The Mustang is a Mustang, and has an image of a personal performance coupe. Only coupe that fits that discription is Camaro, from GM anyway.

When we get to enthusiasts or people buying Mustang because of it's looks or name, then naturally all bets are off.
