I would hope the C6 Z06 would follow a price pattern like the C5 Z06. It would be right around the convertible C6 price, and actually a touch cheaper.

This formula worked quite successfully for the C5, so why mess with it?

Performance-wise, the big 3 Domestic manufacturers are always in competition. They're often fighting for the same base of buyers in this market.

You don't think it's a coincidence that the '93 Z28 got the LT1 near the end of the 302's tenure? Or that the LS1 was released when the 4.6 SOHC got revised heads?

GM released the GTO not long after the demise of the F-Body to stay somewhat competitive in the affordable-performance segment.

Now they're just fighting with a larger base of manufacturers. With the influx of 350Zs, Evos, STis, RX-8s, etc. now they have a larger selection of automobiles to compete with.

I don't doubt they'll be aiming for the Viper with their next Z06.
