The BOSS is Back !!!
In the vid at the first link, there is a Camaro spinning out at 2:27... anyone notice that?
The Boss will likely be quite the performer. Who knows how much it will cost to buy one.

Both Pfdaft and Pedders have sucessfully proven you can make the gen 5 Camaro worthy of holyness in the handling department by chassis tuning and dropping to a light 19" rim and wider tire . GM could accomplish the same if they chose to . ITs my opinion the Camaros SS's weaksauce handing was a concious tradeoff for superior ride quality. Wider tires I almost garantee would be lighter overal on a lightweight 19" rim over the heavy stock 20" Suburban wheels .

Is it that they don't feel the need for it? Have some of us not been vocal enough?
Is it that they are so indecisive that they want Ford to provide proof of concept before GM will risk proceeding with anything? Come on, come on, come on, let's quicken our step over there GM! I mean the Camaro SS is GM's response to the 2005 GT. The '12 Z/28 is GM's response to the 2007 GT500. So can we expect a GM response to the Boss circa '16?COME ON GM, LET'S MOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charlie , I think a little old GM is straggling around in the respect that they are still very much reactive as opposed to proactive . On the gt500 comment , it is a 2011 car thats roaming around with the 6.2 sc proto . If they were wise , theyd should be one of the few that snatches up a Boss for a homework assignment lol .
Well, let's see them do it then Joe.

I'll be surprised if GM doesn't have a reply for MY 2013 (and if the Camaro is still selling at close to list at that time). Remember that the Boss is MY 2012.
The Camaro is still selling well, without incentives, whereas you can already find good discounts on 2011 V6 Mustangs. I.e., Ford needs a halo model more than GM.

If GM is planning a Boss type package for the Camaro, I guess it would be classified tip top secret - since no one is aware of it. GM also recognizes the limits of the current car's architecture.
Essentially, I expect no surprises. We'll have the SS, we'll have the GT500-esque Z/28, we'll have the convertible, we'll have an interior refresh ---- and that's how the 5th gen will soldier on until it's replaced.
Sure, the Camaro is still selling well. Although, it seems to have slipped behind the Mustang in sales volume in the past couple of months.

Yep. Because of that, Ford will put a whole bunch of effort and resources into the next gen Mustang. My hope is that GM doesn't unsershoot what it benchmarks for future Camaros.

It will quite obviously make its power higher in the rpm band. I don't know where the actual peak will be, but I'm guessing ~7000-7200 rpm (and I did read the 7500 rpm comment). That will likely come with a small loss of low & mid-range power.
We know peak torque is down by 10, so I would have to agree with this.
I'm sure the current car's limits are higher than where the SS currently sits.
