I'm glad they aren't making a travesty of the "Boss" and put the name on a car that deserved it.

This car is awesome. Wish I could get a Camaro set up like this..... looks like my next car is probably gonna be a Mustang. because Ford is getting everything right wtih it. At least GM is getting everything right with the Corvette.....not so much with Camaro. I hope the Z/28 doesnt end up being a 4300lb pig.

Kudos to Ford. They have really brought their A game to all of the Stangs in the stable. It'll be interesting to see how all of this performance injected into the Mustangs will work out on the sales side.

If I can get it in one color and no stripes for under $40k I might bite on this one. Ford is doing their best to keep people form buying it with that god aweful exterior, yes I know what the originals looked like and they were ugly as well.

I would love them to put the SOHC 6.2 in a version of the stang.

Word is, base of $36-38K (depending on the source).

I imagine they will all be sold before their Job 1 date of 1/18/11.

Supposedly, a hotter version is also coming.

For once, even the guys on Camaro5 were giving the car props. I was amazed. However, on GMI there were 3 pages talking about the stripes.

I REALLY like the Kona Blue.

Iron blocked gas pig. Ain't a happenin.

You will, however, get a GT350. A real one............. not Shelby's $60K monstrosity.

I bet they could make that work N/A with the double OD trans from the GT500 and the VVT system used in the 6.2L "whatever Ford calls the engine these days".

As I've said before, while I'm definitely in the camp that thinks the Camaro is too heavy, it is not as though the Mustang is a Miata or Z06 or something. 3600+ lbs is still pretty beefy. Better than 3860? Yes. A flyweight? No.

I firmly believe GM could tune up the Camaro, even with its higher weight, without doing anything drastic. The car needs some wider front wheels/tires (that would add a few pounds) and some suspension retuning, maybe something in the vein of what Pedders offers.

Keep in mind that the Camaro distributes its weight more evenly than the Mustang. A 3860 lb Camaro with 52% over its front wheels has 2007 lbs over the steering axle. A 3600 lb GT (and this Boss could possibly be a tick heavier with its bigger rear brakes and duplicate exhaust pipes) with 55% up front has 1980 lbs.

Unfortunately, GM so far has not opted to do this, whereas Ford has turned it up a notch with the Boss. But big-boned or not, I think the Camaro could be dialed up to run with a car like this, even in the handling department. It may never "feel" quite the same as the Mustang b/c of the gun-slit windows and longer wheelbase, but it could offer the performance. At least I think so.
