vht

Ok, i read all the posts and i understand its best to start out with 6-800 grit first then move to 1500-2000 grit to polish them up. Good concrete information.

But what i need to know is if anybody has a link of how to apply the vht to the tail lights, like as in the whole procedure.

I need to know how to prep it and What Clear Coat To Get.....

Or maybe a link, and yes ive been using the search function and found some vht threads...:blah:

TIA

Wetsand the plastic in steps. 400 if you need to, then 600, then 800, then 1000. Most of the time you can get away with starting at 800. Anyways, then wash the area with dish soap and dry it off. Apply the VHT with a thin coat first, let it dry, then apply as many coats until it gets to the desired darkness. Some people sand the vht inbetween coats, if you do that, don't sand right after the first coat. Wetsand the vht to 1500 (or maybe 2000), clean it, dry it, then apply clearcoat. The best clear would be from a professional painter but duplicolor spray paint would be ok. Then sand the clear all the way to 2000 then use some paint polish/buffer.

Note: When i say sand to X sandpaper, I mean start sanding from where ever it gets rid of the orangepeel effect on the paint. You might get away with starting at 1000 or you might have to start at 800.
