VHT Niteshades PICS!

I just niteshaded my taillights, and HOLY CRAP. This stuff is pretty cool. A friend and I laid down 3 coats, and I thought I wanted a little darker. So a 4th was laid down. At that point, I thought I was satisfied, but my friend thought maybe one more coat. We debated and decided not to. Thank god... this stuff gets darker as it dries. So these have 4 coats on them, and around 8 clear coats on them. I have so much clear coat so I can wet sand them to smooth them down even more. So even though this is not the finished product, I thought I would throw some pics up.

These are the best representation of the tint

This is what it looks like with the flash, so this shows how translucent the paint is

This is how reflective it is with the flash on.

Wow, those things are dark. Wet sand them and get some pics of them on the car.

Yeah man... pics on the car and step on the brakes! I'm interested in seeing how much light comes through at night and how difficult it is to see the rear lights during the day time.

now i am never one to rain on anybodys parade or anything but in So Cal those things are super illegal.... I had some of those on my car lightly painted and ended getting a fixer ticket. I had a bitch of a time trying to get that damn paint off and at the end they looked so crappy i ended just getting a new/used set of tail lights. Overall i think they look cool but it is always safe to have an extra set of tail lights just in case.

Sorry for not posting pics of them on the car yet... they aren't to my liking yet.... I wet sanded them and they lost a good bit of their luster, but they are ungodly smooth.... I'm going to throw another clear coat on them in the next few days and take pics again..... but just fyi, the light goes through the tail light just as well as it did without the paint.

Wet sand the s**t out of em! Nott TOO much, tho. You can un-tint it that way too..

I think mine came out a smidge too dark, but I'll live w/ it. If I stumble upon another set of tails, I'll do it again.
