Question for those with gfx

I have a 96 z28 with a few mods and many more to come this winter. My question is do any of you have overheating problems with the stock front "spoioler" for the radiator. Some of the kits i see come with them that are longer than stock but my car is dropped 2". How much longer is the spoiler that comes with the gfx, because i have LT headers so if it doesnt hang lower than those i will be fine.

Re: Question for those with gfx

If your car is already dropped 2", your just going to scrape your gfx off on a speed bump or when parking. Unless you have 20 inch wheels making your car a lot taller that is...

Re: Question for those with gfx

clearance isnt an issue anymore i have hooker long tubes and true duals with an x-pipe that are now about 3-3.5inches from the ground. Idont ever scrape the air deflector for the radiator just the collecters every once and a while if i have more than 2 people in the car. This car is not a daily driver but i am concerned with keeping it cool enough

Re: Question for those with gfx

Check out my LT1 (http://www.projectcamaro.com/mycamaro.htm) Everyone who doesn't have gfx will tell you how bad you're going to scrape them and rip them off but take it from someone with a lowered car and gfx don't worry about it. After about a day you get use to it so it's no problem. As for the air dam I used the one Wings West sent with the kit but I trimmed a little off the bottom to make it work best for me.

Re: Question for those with gfx

i have a 2 inch drop, Wings West W-Type gfx and the stock air deflector.......never had one overheating problem.
it is true, you do have to re-learn how to drive it after that much of a drop and gfx.....but in my opinion, it is definetly worth the look.
but....to each his own!

Re: Question for those with gfx

I've heard of a number of cases where people with large front ground effects and the stock air damn do run hotter. I helped a guy via email and as soon as he bought the Wings West large air damn his car started running cooler again. You could always try it and if your car runs too hot for your liking, then stick the larger one on
