Question for all running the LTCC

For anyone that is running bob baliey's LTCC. I have not had much luck with getting this thing to work any better then the opti by itself. One minute it runs fine the next its pulling codes. Just driving the car around no boost I pull no codes but as soon as I want to make some power the LTCC pulls a code and the thing misses bad Im not sure if its the location of my coils or if the box is bad. All my coils are mounted off the fuel rail. What kind of luck is everyone else having with this system and where are you mounting your coils?

I mounted my coils on top of the valve covers and haven't had any problems. Which codes is it throwing?

Here's how I mounted mine: PICS

As far as reliability goes, I'm not too sure..

I replaced the optispark for the second time since May 28th, last week and went to the track last friday.. the car quit near the top of the 1/8th and it hasn't run since.. No codes on the LTCC, I swapped the optispark 3 times and still nothing...

When I turn the key on, the green light on the LTCC flashes on, then goes out, the red light comes on for a second or so, then goes out. When I start cranking the car over, the green light comes on, but it won't fire. No codes either..

good luck

Don't have the FI setup running with the LTCC yet, but the daily driver setup runs like I don't know it's there. Cover mtd. B body.

Give Bob some email. Let 'um earn his sales.

Thumbs down

I've been working with bob he is great at responding to emails, I wish I could just call him on the phone. I played with the car a little more today. I was pulling a code 3 all day but only under boost. The car never seems to miss under no boost conditions. I can slowly rev the car to 5K it does not sound like its missing. However as soon as i mash the gas the car pulls very hard for 1000rpm(thats just a tease) then starts poping out the exhaust like I had a rev limiter. Also if i rev the car to 5K with no boost I pull no codes.

what plug wires does everyone use on there LTCC system. Bob thinks that the msd wires give off too much noise because of there low resistance.

Moroso Blue Max wires.

Mine always ran great..... when it ran... I haven't had any LTCC problems though, mine have all been optispark problems up until this last time.. I need to check for power on the pink wires and if that's ok, the LTCC box is seeing Mr. Fed-Ex man...

I am currently running MSD wires without any issues.

Not using the LTCC, but have an LS1 8-coil setup, with the coils hung below the lower radiator support. Wires are the 8.5mm MSD's and no problems at all. The wire are run completely under the headers though.

Brady, have you run your car with the LTCC and the "modified" opti yet? I'm getting ready to tear into the engine again (new heads, timing chain, etc) and will be installing my LTCC and want to modify the Opti the way that you have.

yes, I ran the car with the "modified" opti, it worked good. The car died again but it turned out to not be the opti and I sent the LTCC back to Bob to get fixed... The modified opti did hold together though..

good luck
