David again makes a good point. Just because someone once did it, doesn't mean YOU can do it. Whatever IT is.

you can do anything if you put your mind to it

That's probably more like it.

What does "G.B." in the description stand for? What is "a whole lot? $3K, $5K, $10K? If they build the heads for each customer it shouldn't be too hard for them to make an LT1 specific set...

They're part of the Brodix "GB 2000" series heads, MBE just modified them (albeit extensively).

I don't know what they cost, but I'm pretty sure thats a $4000+ set of cylinder heads before MBE gets them.

Email from MBE:

"The GB2500 heads are $6,730 pr bare, ready to assemble. Assemblies with custom titanium valves, PSI 1249 springs (1.00 lift max), titanium locks, Ti-17 retainers (same material as nextel Cup & NHRA pro Stock uses) $9,450.

We would have to convert these for you. The cost of converting is about $400"

Like I said, $25,000 for the power producing parts of the project might just do it.

Dyno results

Just got the results from Karl on the dyno session at "A top secret location somewhere down South" on the King ERE 383. This motor has a very similar head/cam/valvetrain combo as yours silver95. This motor was King ERE #13 if your interested in the bottom end specs.

AI 215cc TF setup with the ProSeries SR valve train (Jesel)
Cam specs .668 on a 104 ICL
Stock intake w/ 1300cfm monoblade

Motor made 520hp at 7000 with 470ft/lb (not sure at what rpm as Karl was calling it in on his cellphone on the trip back)

This was a very conservative tune with the bottom end set up for a decent hit of nitrous. With a little better breathing manifold probably would have pushed the power numbers up a little.

Very promising....but still a long way away from the 600-700 rwhp you're looking for.

If you really want that you may want to consider a different platform or at the very least a different set of heads.

Here's a fully developed (by Reher-Morrison, no less) 412ci SBC drag race motor. It develops 675hp with a 14:1 CR. There are many significant differences between this and an LT1 and it is a race motor that needs high octane leaded race fuel. Just a little perspective.

^^ similar to what I built out of an LT1...but I have stock ported heads and Fuel injection.

IMHO it was a huge mistake and the engine is a POS......I will never mess with a small blcok again. Huge waste

I was looking for fwhp (flywheel horsepower) not rwhp. Anyways, I found out what injectors to go with and that was the whole reason for this post.

Good luck with it...food for thought - an AI 355 with a small SR cam and their 200cc heads just put down 500rwhp through an M6. This car/engine combination is pretty close to the 600fwhp number you're after.
