K&N with MAF Question

I have heard some people mention that the oil from the filter can screw up the MAF readings. Is this true or just something that came out of people oiling the hell out of the filter? TIA

Its not a problem if people would read the instructions for cleaning & oiling the K&N filters. Such as do not over oil and air dry and drain before reinstalling. As you know reading scores are down in the schools.

thats jsut cruel, lol, I ACTUALLY read the instructions and had problem first time i used it, seemed good to me, but apaprently it was too much, it dries out eventually anyways and any trouble with MAF should be temporarily, at least it was for me, only happened for like an hour or so, I actually got a service engine soon code.

Yeah my 87 set the service engine soon light with a MAF burn off code when i first put the SLP cold air package on it. Apparently they soaked the K&N from the factory. Didn't have another problem since then.
