Inexpensive shaft mount rocker setup?

Are there any inexpensive shaft mount rocker setups out there? A while back I seem to remember someone's sportsman setup running right around $600, now I can't find a shaft setup for much less than $800-900. Are there any out there?

The Jesel Sportsman Series is right around $730-750. I don't think you'll find a setup for $600, unless it's used.

If it's new and selling for $600 you might be best off sticking with stud mounts and a stud girdle. That's what I use on the Camaro and on my big block race motor that has much more spring than any LT1 I ever heard of using, and it works fine.

Ditto Rich. If your motor really needs shaftmounts, $800 is probably a small fraction of the cost of the build.

Well here is where I am at, I have a bare set of 235cc CNC Pro Topline heads, which would require:

Girdles w/ polylocks: $110-$150
7/16 Screw in studs: $55
Good Rocker Arms: $275
Guide plates: $25

Total for stud setup: $505

I was looking at Yella Terra and a few other companies, Yella Terras seem to be reasonably priced although they aren't a true shaft setup.

What do you guys think?

That was the Cranes for $600 (I think even less) when they 1st cam out about 2 years ago. Sort of an introductory price. Now they are $750?

I bought my Jesel SS shafts for $725, direct from Jesel. I upgraded from a stud mount rocker and guideplates. Once you go with a shaft system, you will never look back. You will have a lot less crap stuffed under the valve covers, and they are like over 3 times stiffer than a stud mount setup. Yes, when I did switch, I did feel a difference in the way the car pulled on the top end, not to mention my valve train is dead quiet. Go with the shafts, you will love them.

If you hury Thunder has everything on sale till tonight for 10% off. You can get a set of 2004 T&D's for ~$840. I was thining of getting them myself as I am in the market for a shaft mount too. But I think they will be on sale again at Christmas and the Jesel's are still cheaper at their regular price.
