At any rate, I can't see paying a premium for a car that they'll be making tens of thousands of for years to come.

Hmmmmm........ I don't know how Ferrari can get away with that, because I had a very in depth discussion with Scott (FBF) about that, and he said due to franchise laws GM is not allowed to tell dealers what they can charge for the car. The MSRP is "suggested", and it is illegal for a manufacturer to dictate to a dealer that they cannot sell it for more or less than the sticker.

Perhaps theres a loophole that allows a company like Ferrari to do that since they are so small, speciallized, and cater to specific clients that a company like GM which produces large scale mass consumption products wouldn't even consider.

I do agree, though, that anyone selling Ferraris could be looking to mark the cars up for many, many more reasons than a Chevy dealer would be trying to mark up a Camaro.

I don't intend to pay over U.S. MSRP at the prevailing exchange rate, no matter what the Cdn MSRP is.

I use the Internet Salesman when I can also.

The friend I live with purchased a 2008 Equinox Sport this past Tuesday. I did all the work for him mostly. The dealership it was purchased from sells most of it's vehicles $500 below invoice.

The sticker on the Equinox was $29,280. He paid $23,480 (with the rebates). Not a bad price for a nice loaded vehicle imo.
