How much above MSRP is fair & reasonable? How much above MSRP are you willing to pay?
In all seriousness, as much as I want and love this car, I can and WILL wait if I have to. I still have more brains than money, and no dealer will take advantage of either.
I think if a dealer sees I am serious about buying the car, but still able to temper my enthusiasm, they will be willing to deal below MSRP if they want my business. Or else they just loose it. Plain and simple.

Okay, since pricing is such a hot subject and since Chris and I always suggest to refuse Camaro markups as much as possible as also know that it may be difficult. Here's a nifty poll for you all to see where you stand. Please be honest.
Please choose how much above MSRP you feel is fair and reasonable. This should also be how much above MSRP you are willing to pay for your 2010 Camaro.

Back in April 2001 I decided I wanted a PT Cruiser.Dealers at the time were adding $4k over msrp on inventoried cars.I stopped at a dealer who had 8 Cruisers on his lot told him HE could pick the car he wanted to get rid of and I would pay him MSRP on the spot.He said no way... I walked away. Went to a dealer closer to my house who had none on the lot but was taking orders with and 8-12 week wait. While I was there the sale guy had a customer cancel an order that was due in in 4 weeks, bought that car. Paid msrp of $21,550 not 1 penny more.Ironicaly the exact same MSRP on the 2006 HHR I traded it against.Paid $100 over invoice for It.I would never spend more than MSRP for anything!
When I bought my 87 Grand National (the last run that came out in late 87, the dealer had 5 of them in Van Nuys California) They had a $5,000 rape sticker, I told them I would pay MSRP ONLY! And they were still unloading them from the truck! I got it at MSRP $17,500. Damn I wish I still had that. (lost it in a divorce.)
$30,000 item. The salesman's commision on that would be what is called a "mini" which is either going to be NOTHING, or a whopping $25 bucks. (depending on the dealership's policy) Considering the average commission for the cars I sold (20 years ago) was around $300 per car average, YOU wouldn't be worth my time.
I think I understand why they try and screw you on the trade, because it is the only way they will make a buck off of you. I hate greedy dealers as much as the next guy, but $100 over cost on a $30,000 item is kind of ...........what's the word I'm looking for........cheap.
I think $2,000 profit to the dealer per transaction is a fair profit. Keep in mind out of that profit they have to pay the salesman the commission, the sales manager get's his cut, the finance manager get's his cut, the OWNER of the dealership get's his cut, and they have to pay lot taxes, utilities, rent/mortgage for the property and other operating costs. A $100 a car wouldn't allow any dealer to stay in business unless they were selling more than 1500 cars a month probably.
Would YOU work for a .3% profit?

I think this is going to be a complete non-issue unless you want the first Camaro off the truck or a special edition.
Even the infamously marked-up, limited production Pontiac GTO had a rebate on the hood after the first year or so.

This thread is too Gay hahahahahahaah! Just kidding Kids. Dealership needs to make the Dough! It doesn't matter what you will pay in the first year or so. If the Camaro is hot, inventory will be on the move and there will competition for ownership!!!
Even though we enthusiast will not be paying very much over MSRP....... non enthusiast willllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll! The non-enthusiast makes up more than half the percentage of sales. Forget about dealers incentive on the first year! GM will manufacture the alot vehicles as a test run, thus, I'm sure the Camaros will be picked up quick enough when it comes to supply and demand.
I really suggest in holding out and waiting a year. Let the vehicle saturate the market, before purchase!
Just like a crowded party, let everyone get their meal before you get yours. Just remember that it's not left-overs that you are getting!!!!
