Camaro in public
Sooooooooooooo anyone want to guess what these cars are?
....orrrrrrrrr does anyone know
Since there was three, maybe an auto V-6, auto V-8 and manual V-8??? or maybe all V-8??? All V-6???
Maybe the folks at GM (well, I guess Holden, really?) threw some "possible" rims on the cars and are gaging public interest by reading the internet forums
Maybe the only difference will be size? They look like 18's to me?

Stop and think about this. You are judging the car already, when it is covered in shapes and colors to intentionally hide shape and details. Not to mention, it is a blurry, blown up picture and details that might be there are gone as a result.
The wheels are probably something that was laying around in the shop. The front and rear fenders "don't look right" because they are half covered up and what isn't covered up is camouflaged in the black and white mentioned above to throw off detail and correct angles.
Here is a great example. The horizontal lines are straight.

Not too different in theory than what is on the car, eh?
These new images are by no means the image to use to make decisions on, there is a LONG way to go yet.

I guess I am just scared GM will make so many cost saving detail changes that the actual car will be so different from the concept that I'll be totally turned off on the car.
But it might very well be not meant to duplicate the concept so closely yet. We are about a year or more before production even begins and tons could change. Again, these are NOT images to judge the car on! The cars you see are for testing ONLY, and for all we know, they could be testing testing brake lines.
Here is a very simple chop of some larger wheels on the camo mules. Also Do I need to leave the leftlanenews logo on their if I'm going to chop the photos and post them?

And yes, I would leave the watermark in it. You don't want to deny them credit for it, just not cool.
That's just me.
Think of this as a draft. I'm a writer. I don't show anyone my first drafts. I write an article, tune it up a little, and send it in. And only my editor sees my second drafts. What the reader sees when my work is published is usually a third draft that has been reviewed by an editor, polished, and then fixed up further by a professional proofreader. If my first drafts were published as-is the moment I wrote the last sentence, well... let's just say that I'd be exploring other careers.
The upshot is this: it's camouflaged because they aren't ready to show it to you as a finished product. The reason for that is because it's not a finished product. Period.
To all who are flip flopping here is a word to the wise. This car is going to be as nearly the same as the concept that most of you can afford.
GM has and is going to lengths to make this car to retain as much of the show car as possible but still keep it where you can afford it or even drive it safely.
Take a look at the Solstice Show car and the SSR and see how close they are and you will see you should have little to worry about.
Now if the final Camaro is not close enough to suit your needs you were never going to be happy 100% anyways.
The camo is working as even when many think they know it still keeps the little doubt that keep the interest up till release time.
Besides if they showed them now in a non completed form some would complain something is missing when that part is just not on the car yet in testing.
That is like complaining about the wheels on these cars when they are not the production wheels.
Anyways these cars look good and if you study the photo's they hold very close to the concept cars in a more livable form. Good job so far GM!

OK...here you go, comparison pictures. I took the bottom photos at the unveiling.
To me the changes are very minor....
The distance from the front wheel to the door looks shorter. Of course, B-pillars. Canopy looks slightly higher. Mirrors & door handles different. The wheels openings are slightly smaller too...leading to a slight increase in distance from the top edge of the fender to the openings.

Had to flip my shot to get similar angles...
