Here is a picture of the seat back with the cover and all hardware installed. Looks like new. If you notice there is a piece of the back sticking up about 2/3rds of the way from the left side. I took a utility knife to cut a slit where the carpet and the vinyl come together. This was to give an opening for the subwoofer wires and access to the various subwoofer controls. I then used hook and loop pieces to hold the slit opening together.

Here is a picture of the front of the completed install. notice the seat back looks identical to the before picture. The foam in the middle over the subwoofer makes sure the seat looks and feels like the original.

The subwoofer is firmly secure in the seat back. I then put the cut foam, as I described previously, into position and pulled the seat cover over the assembly and hook the plastic cover connectors together. Put back on all the seat hardware.

I used fender washers to give wide support against the plastic. Fender washers have small bolt holes but are bigger in diameter.

I then lay the subwoofer with supports into the back of the back seat and drilled mounting holes in the aluminum and the seat back.

The Rockford has screws holding the front and back together. I removed the screws at the corner and one in the middle. I go longer screws from the hardware store. I purchased a 3' length of 1" wide aluminum and cut it into three equal pieces. Using the screws I bought I affixed the aluminium strips to the subwoofer.

The foam is about 4" thick. I cut out about a 3" thick section leaving 1" that would be in front of the subwoofer. Between the subwoofer and the foam the seat maintains it's form and shape.

This is the hard plastic back you will remove from the seat. In this picture I've already cut out a section the size of my subwoofer. I used my Dremel to cut the plastic piece out.

Another picture of the completed project. Success! I have great subwoofer bass, there is no indication of the subwoofer in the seat, which prevents theft, and my tonneau cover fits as it should.

Simply unhook them and side the whole cover off. Inside you will find a foam piece in front and a hard plastic piece supporting the foam. There are some hook and loop connectors hold things together. Undo the foam and set it aside for now.
