Re: what size slicks are u guys runnin

I ran 28x11.5-15 Hoosier QTP's and they fit in wheel wells that had already been lightly hammered for 315/35-17's on 17x11's. They worked fine until trap speeds approached 130mph, and by that point, they were growing enough to start hitting the front (metal) edge of the quarter panel. I moved the axle back about 1/4" to eliminate the rubbing.

The QTP's were exactly 28.0" diameter. Then I put a set of ET Drag 28x10.5 15W's on, and they would not fit in the wheel opening without cutting the leading edge off the rubber bumper cover, and hammering back the metal point behind the cover. I ran it up over 130mph on a chassis dyno, and it was still rubbing..... I guess I've cut the rubber bumper cover back almost 1.5" to make them fit. I never measured the ET Drags, but obviously they are more than 28.0"..... maybe closer to 28.5".

Buddy of mine used 29.5x10.5-15 ET Drags on a 30th SS, and it required opening up the wheel housings, and enlarging the wheel openings by cutting back the quarter panel and the rubber bumper cover quite a bit.

I've posted links to the photos numerous times, but unfortunately the server they are on is down right now. Trying to put them in another location.
