Re: Tire rub

I think it's a combination of things in your signature. I'm running AFS 17x11's with 315/35-17's and Eibach's also...have you had the rear end re-centered? Is it only the passenger side that rubs? If so, you need an adjustable panhard bar (I have the Unbalanced Engineering one - it's a nice piece!) and you should also install the GM jounce bumper spacers to limit the rear-end travel if you haven't already. I just had the rear of mine centered on Monday and no more rubbing so far. I have not needed to roll the fender lips yet. When you lower the car, the rear end moves to the passenger side. I hope this helps...good luck,

Re: Tire rub

What offset are the wheels? Sounds like you have 36.5 ZR1 offset, rather than the 50mm GS offset.

Re: Tire rub

Did you pound in the forward part of the wheel wells down near the lower control arm? Are you running the GM jounce bumper spacers? Those two things will go along way to solving the issue, then you need to re-center the rear. Gotta do those 3 first...

Re: Tire rub

Arent the GM jounce bumper spacers only needed if its rubbing on the inside sidewall. I have problems with it rubbing the outside.

Re: Tire rub

They limit the rear end travel, so depending on where your's rub it may alleviate some of it. Mine were rubbing in several places and I'd estimate the jounce bumpers solved about 40% of it initially, the inner pounding another 30% and re-centering about 25%...and I only get it now over very harsh transitions, and even then it's really minor and quick. I have not rolled the edges, nor do I plan to.

Re: Tire rub

My bounce spacer on the right needs replacement: would local auto parts store have them? Or do I have to go to the dealer?

Re: Tire rub

I have an adjustable panhard rod..(BMR) .. which way to I turn the adjusty thingy??
I have never adjusted it... and my tire rubs on the passenger-outer-fenderwell..

Rotate away from me.. when looking at the rear or Rotate Toward me??

I know. its a silly question.

Re: Tire rub

Since the PHR bolts to the drivers side of the axle assembly, lengthening the rod will move the body toward the right (passenger side). That would increase the clearance between the outside edge of the passenger side tire, and the inner edge of the passenger side fender lip. You need to measure before you start, so you know how far you moved it, and can verify that you moved it in the right direction. Which way you need to rotate the bar depends on whether it is single or double adjustable, and which end they put which threads on. You should be able to just look at the threads on the ends, and figure out which way to rotate the bar to make it longer.
