15x9 Draglites....what size backspacing??
15x9 Draglites....what size backspacing??
If we need 5.5 b.s. for a 15x8 wheel and 7.5 b.s. for 15x10 then would it be safe to say I need 6 or 6.5 b.s. for a 15x9?? Just wondering if anybody has experience with running a 15x9 setup on the rear.
Re: 15x9 Draglites....what size backspacing??
You need to ask Weld what they make. Summit does not list all the possible sizes. I know when I bought my 15x10 7.5" BS from Summit, I had to go to the Weld website and get the part # for the wheel, then call Summit and talk to a rep to place a "special order". They did not list, or stock the 7.5" BS wheels.
The "problem" is that Weld has "improved" their website to the point where it is now virtually useless. You have to be clairvoyent to even figure out where on the website they even list the Pro-Stars, and then when you find them there is not tech info, no measurements and no part numbers.... just a place to click and order a wheel. You will probably have to e-mail them to find out if they make what you want.
Hint:
Go to Weld Industries website.
http://www.weldracing.com/
Click on the "Weld Racing" icon, which shows the photo of a 4x4
When the "2004 Forged" screen pops up, click on "Wheels" on the top bar
When a screen shows up showing what appear to be mainly truck wheels, look for the icons immediately above the wheels photos, and click on "Sport Forged".
You should now be at the Draglite/Pro-Star/Rodlite page........
Ridiculous!

Re: 15x9 Draglites....what size backspacing??
Thanks, Injuneer. I know what you mean about Weld's website. I checked it out 3 or 4 weeks ago and was completely dissappointed. Summit must have updated their site recently. They listed 5.5 b.s. for the 8'' and 7.5 b.s for the 10'' wheels. This was for prostars and draglites. Their wheel and tire section is pretty thorough now. One last question if you don't mind. Is a 275/50/15 drag radial too big for a 15x8?? Thanks again.
Re: 15x9 Draglites....what size backspacing??
BFG recommends that you use a wheel width of 7.5" - 9.5" for their 275/50-15. So an 8" wide wheel is fine. If you are using a different brand, check the manufacturer's specs.
