I didn’t think I would ever break my 10 year TA collection apart, but the time has come to trim something down to make room for something else in the future. As such, I am selling our 30th Anniversary Convertible Trans Am.
I have written a lot, but want to be as upfront as possible so no one is surprised since everyone’s expectations are different.
We are the 3rd owner, purchased it back in July of 2004 locally here in TX from the 2nd owner with 17,575 miles. 1st owner was in Ohio. It now has 45,500 miles.
Car is located in Fort Worth, Texas and has a clean title.
There were 1,600 30th Anniversary cars built, and only 535 of those were convertibles. This one is #707 of the 1,600.
Has been meticulously cared for. The bottom side is very clean as well, check out the pics. I have all of the documentation for everything ever done to the car. When I purchased it, it has some rear axle whine, so I had the rear axle bearing replaced. All oil and fluid changes are documented when they occurred since I have owned the car.
The convertible top is in perfect shape, no leaks, no tears, no wear.
It also has a replacement set of the original factory tires, Eagle F1GS on the car with lots of tread left if you wanted to store them to preserve them. I also have 2 of the original Eagle F1GS tires that came on the car that have about 60% of their tread life left.
AC compressor was replaced with a OEM unit in July 2014.
There is absolutely nothing wrong mechanically with the car.
The only modification is I installed a drain plug on the transmission pan when the fluid was changed at 20,519 miles.
Comes with the collector owners manual and cover with the pens.
The only flaws are:
Passenger side door has some deep scuff marks on the door where a bicycle fell over on it in the garage, see pics.
The bird decal on the rear tail light panel is faded but I have a replacement decal for it. The car sat in our carport a lot when my wife would drive the car and the sun was always on the back bumper area, but no other visible signs of sun wear, the plastic is all in fine shape.
Car was involved in a very minor accident on the driver side door and rear quarter panel, I have pics of the car when it was damaged so you can see what it was. I was taking the car to an early morning car display for the local news when someone decided they wanted in the right turn lane and their bumper rubbed down the side of the car starting at the rear of the door.
And it has the famous door panel cracks of nearly all ’98 and newer Trans Ams when the panels were redesigned. I have performed the posted repair to stop the crack from spreading, and pulls the plastic together where it is not as noticeable.
Interior shows normal wear for miles on car, maybe less, let the pictures tell the story.
Those are the only flaws in this beautiful car.
We drove this car on the entire Hot Rod Power Tour back in 2013 from Arlington, Texas to Charlotte, NC with zero issues, decals for the tour are still on the car.
