295/50/16 Tires on OEM Rims???

I was just looking at the Summit Catalog and found a Mickey Thompson Radial Tire model MTT-3794R tire rim size 8-10. Does anyone know if this wheel will fit on a factory 16x8 rim and have the clearance underneath from rubbing?

Thanks

8-10" means that tire will fit correctly on wheels 8.0" to 10.0" wide.

What car.... a 4th Gen? Camaro of Firebird?

If that's what you have, shouldn't be a major problem. People put 315's back there. Specs show 12.1" section width, and a 27.7" diameter. So you are adding about 1.25" to the inside edge of the tire, and it may be getting close to the inner fender liner. Mild hammering of the inner fenders may be required.

If your rear axle isn't centered front-to-back in the wheel well, you may have problems with the tread rubbing on the leading or trailing edges of the fender opening, with a tire 2" larger than stock diameter.

Hopefully you have engine mods that are producing very high torque, or you are running a very high numerical rear axle ratio, because those heavy, larger diameter tires are going to suck the life right out of a "stockish" engine.

Good info.... A shame that after he came back at 9:50 pm the same day, he didn't acknowledge your help.
