There a discussion in the FAQ at the top of the page regarding the acceptable range of offsets for various width wheels. The diameter of the wheels doesn't affect much, except in the front if you are trying to run a really wide wheel and keep it under the fender. The larger diameter wheels can run a bit more backspace, because the steering knuckle is bending backwards, away from the wheel rim as the diamter increases.

Whether is will "work" depends on the width of the wheel(s).... which you didn't mention.... unless you are talking about the same widths mentioned in your intial post?????

From the FAQ on "WHAT OFFSET DO I NEED FOR MY 4TH GEN:"

10.0":

Tire edge outside fender = +38mm
Limited by backspace on front = +50mm
Tire edge slightly inside fender = +55mm
Limited by backspace on rear = +62mm
From the FAQ on "C6 OEM WHEELS ON A 4th GEN:"

• Offset +79 (19x10 inch Wheels)

3. I got to the rear, and I immediately noticed a problem. I pulled the wheel off, massaged the inner wheel wells, as well as the quarter panel inner section, with no results.

4. I decided to buy some bolt in adapters, through ebay, being that I found the best price (I beleive it was around $60 for a set of rear spacers 1.25" including locking bolts.
Its all there in the FAQ.
