What Is the width of the factory 97ss zr1 wheels?
Also will a 315 35 17 drag radials fit in the stock 97 ss with the zr1 wheels and fit without clearance issues.

Re: 97 ss zr1 wheel questions

Stock wheel on an SS coupe is 17” x 9.0” 50mm offset.

It is a “ZR1 style" wheel, but is different than the Corvette ZR1 wheel, which is 17” x 9.5” 56mm offset in the front, and 17” x 11.0” 36mm offset in the back.

The best wheel for the 315/35-17 tire is the 11.0” wide wheel. There are ZR1/Grand Sport 17” x 11.0” 50mm replicas that fit the 4th Gen F-Body, with very minor fender modifications.

A 315/35-17 on a 9.0” wide wheel in most cases does not meet the tire manucaturer's specs. Tire will look bulged out from the rim. But a lot of people used to squeeze older Nitto 315 DR's on 9.0/9.5” wheels, because the Nittos were actually undersized for a 315 tire. The current Nitto NT05R 315 requires a wheel width of 10.5” to 12.0” according to Nitto.

I know this is an older thread but, are the Nitto's still a smaller 315? I would like to find the "smallest" streetable 315... Looking specifically at the NT05 vs. the NT555 G2 or ????

Thanks
