17x11 wheel fitment???

I got a set of fikse fm10's that have 17x11 rear's. My problem is that even with the 50 mm offset (7.93 inch backspacing) they don't even remotely look like they are going to fit. They rub on the front inside of the fenderwell and above the jounce spacer. Do you guys really have to pound the inner fenderwells that much or am I missing something? Its going on the car in the sig and has a 315/35/17 tire BTW.

Did Fikse' verify that their wheel with a 50mm offset actually has a 7.93" backspace? The backspace is calculated from the offset, but requires that you know the width of the flange that holds the tire on the rim. Not all wheels have the same width flange. That means that if your rim flange is wider that the 0.460" width on the AFS wheels, the backspace is going to be larger.

Measure the actual backspace by putting a straight edge across the rear of the wheel, and measuring perpendicular down to the face of the mounting flange.

This is the actual clearance with a 17x11 50mm AFS wheel, with a 315/35 BFG Drag Radial:

Mounting flang to rear lip is just 8" or maybe just a hair under. These appear to be the correct backspace. Did you have to massage the fenderwell at all to get yours on? They don't hit with the suspension at full travel?

Re: 17x11 wheel fitment???

I cut the projecting edge off the jounce bumper bracket. Then I hammered the wheel wells.... its mostly at the front. Then, when the fender lip hit the side of the tire on some really hard shifts (back when the car had an M6 and a Street Twin), I rolled the fender lip up and recentered the body over the axle with the adjustable panhard rod.

These pics show what was done.... the hammering is probably a lot more than most people should have to do, but I also run 28x10.5-15W slicks. It looks a lot better with a fresh coat of rubberized undercoat

Been there, done that!

I had to replace my jounce bumpers, and then modify the new ones. I destroyed the originals with the grinder (they fell apart) during the surgery. They weren't too expensive.

17x11 AFS wheels

i got 17x11 AFS wheels ZR1 with the 36.5 mm offset. i had my car on a lift and they clear but now here is the real question. my front tires. well on one side, from the outside of the body fender to the outside of the tire is greater than the other sides. i look at it and wondered if you can recenter the front k member or what. its kinda like the rear wheels. one side used to stick out farther than the other so i got a panhard rod and fixed that. now i need to know what and how to recenter the front. my aim is pyronotic138, email is 7kmolleker@hayshighindians.com, or pm me. i really need help before next week

Are you sure the front hasn't been hit, and incorrectly repaired? Did the problem exist BEFORE you put the ZR1 wheels on? Are you running 17x11's on all 4 corners?

There are no "adjustments" that would allow you to shift the K-member. Is it possible you have two different offsets on the front wheels?
