5x120 Bolt Pattern

Will a 5x120 bolt pattern fit a 4th gen properly. I know it's close to the 5x4.75, but I would like to make sure before I go and get serious about a set of wheels I've been looking at. I have been looking at these on ebay, and I just want to make sure they'll work. Also, has anyone heard of the company ADR? I guess I want to make sure I'm getting a good quality wheel. Thanks.

Re: 5x120 Bolt Pattern

Think about what happens when you tighten the lugs.... the first conical lug that seats centers the hole in the wheel on that stud. The other holes in the wheel will now be up to .65mm off-center. As you tighten those lugs, it either bends the stud slightly (more stress on the stud) or the alloy in the wheel deforms and you no longer have the wheel concentric with the axle. The wheel is now permanently "eccentric", and the wheel will be "working" the soft alloy surface against the hardened lugs.... eventually, the lugs may come loose, maybe stress cracks will develop around the holes in the wheels....who knows?

Sure, its only 26/1,000ths of an inch off center, but who knows what that does to the stresses in the studs and deforming the holes in the wheels.

Now someone will come on here and say "I have them and they fit fine and there are no problems"...... but I would suggest that unless you have taken the time to evaluate the affects of the added stress on the studs, done a decent check of the wheels for cracks, etc., you really don't know whether you have problems, or how soon one of those studs may break.

Maybe the wheels will last for 10 years..... maybe they won't.

Re: 5x120 Bolt Pattern

Ive done some research on this myself. What I found is that the only people that say it wont work, are the people arnt using this bolt pattern. Ive talked to a bunch of people with the popular HP Evo wheels, they also use the 5x120 pattern. Everyone said that they have absolutely no problems. I have also talked to a few wheel shops in my area, they also said that they have had no problems with this combo. But, like stated before you may or may not have any problems, its up to you if you are willing to take the chance.
