Strut Tower Brace Question

http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...RTNUMBER=70005

This says that the strut tower brace is designed for the SS, but it doesn't say whether it will fit a V6 or not. Someone help me out, I don't want to order it and have it not work. Thanks.

The strut towers look the same on both Camaros. The hotchkis STB says it works on both V8 and V6 models. So I am pretty sure it would work, you should call SLP to make sure. I didn't notice any performance gain by adding a STB. Spend the money on a whisper lid (click here) its the third item from the bottom.

I was under the impression that a strut tower brace prevented gradual bending of the chassis over the years. I didn't want to have to deal with that eventually. And thanks, I called SLP and they said it would work.

an STB will also help with weight shifting and improves cornering...

I like it.

I noticed a huge difference when I installed my stb. I have a convertible so my suspension/body flex is much greater than a coupe. This is how I found out. My wife normally gives direction like this; "Turn left NOW!!!!!!!!!!!" before the stb I could feel the front tires straining for grip, with the stb I felt the car turn quicker with a much firmer feel.

Just my $0.02

Well all the ricers down in the crib were telling me a STB would get me in the 9s.

Seriously though, I didn't notice any performance gain in cornering. Stiffer suspension is very noticible though.

Ok, how will adding weight to you car, to reinforce your suspension get you in the 9s? Does it work the same way as adding stickers to your car makes it faster?

Yes, but what most people don't know is putting the stickers closer to the engine cuts down on hp loss.
