Post Help with Monsoon

This last weekend I went to put some new speakers in my Z and an amp I followed directions I had gotten from LS-1.com as I saw in others postings and things did not work out right. I used the Dark Green and Light green wires for the left front speakers and the Gray & Tan wires for the right front speakers. So I took the leads off the HU and used a speaker level to low level convertor to go to the amp and then sent the amp to the leads going out to the speakers. Well It seems now my subs in the rear seats don't work and I ended up having to uninstall the amp and just go back to stock to get anything to work at all. So basically I just removed the x-overs on the door speakers and put in new ones that are driven off the HU amp which sucks. Anybody got any advise this drove me nuts over the weekend and I also have a poping noise after I shut the car off whether the radio is on or off?????

Well, first off, tan/grey is front left and light green/dark green is front right. Make SURE that the grey and tan you got are in the same connector as the 2 greens. There is also a grey that is used for illumination; like I said, the greens and the tan and grey will all 4 be in a row. sounds like you have the Monsoon amp powered up all the time right now. It should be turned on by a pink wire on the back of the head unit; you should also use the same wire for your remote on for your amp. If you don't have a pink wire, I would get one out of a Trans Am or Firebird that had a power antenna and install that wire with the pin in the same hole.

Pictures would help diagnose this problem if you can get them.

I might be able to get pictures tomorrow depends on how busy I am tonight. I hooked everything up like that and when I get to the speaker I find on one side the green/light green wires along with two other colors and on the other side there is a Blue/light blue and a black and white wires so I was like wtf the colors aren't even consistant coming from the HU. Well I have discovered that I should use the black and white wires instead of the blue light blue wires. It seems the blues are from the amp and the black and white are from the HU.

I will try to get you some pics tonight, if not it might be untill the weekend my wife is sick of me messing with my car.

Thank you for your response
