plugs and wires?
plugs and wires?
My spark plugs are do for replacing, and I think i'll replace the wires too while I'm at it. What are some decent brands for plugs and wires, and what gap do most of you guys use on the plugs?
Re: plugs and wires?
The stock Delco plugs/wires are still a good replacement. Otherwise, MSD wires are another popular alternative. The recommended spark plug gap should be printed on one of the stickers in your engine compartment.
Re: plugs and wires?
yeah just stick with acdelco rapid fire platinums(sp?) for the plugs. And as for wire you can go with either a/c delco or some really thick msd wires your call its your money.
Re: plugs and wires?
I'm running Delco Iridiums, but I had no problems with the Rapidfires in the past. They are a fine plug.
As for wires, I believe that protecting your wires is more important than the brand of the wire. I had my OEM wires replaced with another pair of OEM wires that only lasted 20k and replaced them with Taylor wires. However, with the Taylor wires, I installed boot protectors and some insulation on certain spots.
I'm still running the same wires 40k miles later, though I should replace them before they fail.
