Question ? Fuel Pump Pressure on '98 4.3 engine?

Hello, I'm trying to help a friend of mine who may have a bad fuel pump, and figured I'd use this old thread.

She has a '99 Blazer with the 4.3 engine. I'm guessing that's the same engine as the V6 Camaros. I told her to get a Chilton's manual, but I want to know if anyone knows what the fuel pressure is?

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry, the Blazer is a 1999, not a 1998.

Thanks!

3.4 V6
FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE 41-47 PSI(POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH)

POSITION THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE A/C SYSTEM IN THEOFF POSITION. INSTALL A FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE TO THE VEHICLES FUEL RAIL OR FUEL PRESSURE TEST PORT. CONFIRM THAT NO LEAKS ARE PRESENT, AND VISUALLY VERIFY THE PSI READING ON THE GAUGE WITH THE IGNITION IN THE ON POSITION.

Autzone.com has this info just select your year, make, model, engine size and go to their repair/specifications section.

Thumbs up

Thank you so much for the GREAT info Javelin3o4!!!

The pressure in her blazer was between 48-55 PSIs. It doesn't matter if it's off with the switch open, or being revved up.
I thought is was a little high, but I guess her fuel pump is good.
She may have some gunk in her tank, because the mileage is really bad when she's low on gas, and so is the power.
I advised her not to let the fuel drop below 1/4 tank.

Thank again.
I really appreciate your time.

Later.
