Drum to Disk

Well we began at 11 AM Everything went smooth until I we had to remove the rear emergency brake cables. That was the toughest part of removing the rear end. So anyone doing a rear swap do not fear.

Once it was off we began to bolt up the new rear. A few things we soon found out. My calipers did not come with brake hoses and we did not get to order them soon enough to be here same day. So Fun day Sunday is out. ƒ¼ It went in easier than it came out. My only concern is the brake pads or rotors are not right. They fit so snug. Now on my buddies old 97 his pads were never this hard to do.

Overall the rear end swap form drum to disk brakes is easier than most mods you will do. I would order a complete rear instead of buying a rear without brakes and what not. It would make it a little easier.

Tomorrow it will be finished up and I will let everyone know the difference of going from a peg leg 3.08 to a posi 3.23

how much did you spent? btw, I remember seeing a guide on how to do it, but I cant find it, anyone knows the URL? I wanna do it? well, first I wanted to paint the calipers and get crossed and drilled rotors, but how crappy would it look with g2'd calipers and drilled rotors in the front and crappy drums in the back, kinda like a ricer.

you can do the drum do disc swap...

or do what I did on my 94 jsut swap the entire rear end off a v8 car.

I spent $383, shipped for a used lt1 rear from www.speedautomotive.com I think they changed there name thought after some scams they pulled.

might wanna try www.tacreationsusa.com or some local people

im pretty sure he got the whole rearend and swapped (or from how i read the post anyway)

but yes this is the way to do it if ya ask me ... it wasnt too terribly hard ( would have been a lot easier had it not been 20 degrees in my garage and had my underside not been covered in rust)
