****in right man- i bought a 91 geo for $8. i took out the interior and cut the exhasut off, and took off the air cleaner and i think it ran like 19.7 seconds..
lol. I'd still race a geo if that was all we had..

to Daren and the dumbass who started this post, and the other guy who said that "fast& furious street racers" are ****- Dude- street racing has been around alot longer than those movies so shut up.

Daren- Street racing will never stop we will always do it.. No matter how many people get killed. there was a guy about 3 months ago who nailed a telephone pole- you know what- he fixed his car and he is back on the street again....

I do go to the track when it is possible.. unfortunately for me i have to work most friday nights so i can't go the hour away for the friday test & tune.
In fact- i was at the track saturday and we got rained out, and i've got off work this friday night, and saturday - so im going to the track on both days..

But it still wont stop me from street racing....

btw- my most expensive ticket was the $385 one i got for doing a burnout...

Re: Street RACING!!!!

Darren I have a problem with this : "I agree with that. But the big difference is that I'm not calling people dicks because they chose not to partake in illegal and dangerous activities. He did."

I'm not calling anyone in particular a dick for choosing not to partake in illegal and dangerous activities.

Im just saying everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over it. And no one is going to stop doing it over this thread.

Everyone needs to relax and get over it. It happens. People get hurt. End of story.

I bet alot more people get hurt riding motorcycles with no helmit, but thats legal so no one cares about it.

Between MTV I'm a Real Life Street Racer, TFTF, and 2F2F, there is really no light at the end of the tunnels. Did anyone ever notice street racing wasnt a problem 15 years ago? Even 5 or 10? Thats because the only people doing it were the people with fast cars. Now everyone with a I4 under the hood, and a removed muffler think they can drive like Vin Diesel and THEY are what causes problems.

There should be a law for modifying dorky cars, cause its these *******s who cause problems on the road lol ...

Re: Street RACING!!!!

indirocz28 ~ You even out did me.

$360 for operating an ATV on public roadways.

This translates into:

I was riding my XR80 (Which I was,and still am, TOO BIG for) with my firned who just got a YZ125. We seen the 5-0 and he panicked. Shut it down, and by the time he heard me yelling catch it in gear and go, he already stopped. I had to stop by default (Or the would be like "Whose your friend? Or do you wanna loose your bike?) I had no choice but to stop.

The cop was real nice and told us we would get the minimal amount the ticket can be written up for because we "actually stopped." He said it was $25 + Court Fees so it would be about 100$. I got it in the mail two weeks later and **** my pants when it was $365.

Lol!- holy **** you got ****ed man!.. haha..

yeah- i almost had a healthy ticket back when i was racin motocross.. I just put my new reeds and block , and ignition into my 99 yz125 and was out on the highway when lived in TX.. and was just FLYING down the road, i happened to pull up at a stop sign out in the country and up behind me came a state trooper flyin up.. He pulled up in front of me like sideways so i couldnt go and he was like " BOY! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOIN" and i was like- Seein how fast my bike will go.. And Trooper Turk replied to me- Well when i clocked you you were probably about to pass 110.. and i was thinkin to myself " holy ****" and we talked about it and what not and his kids race bikes and stuff and he ended up bein like " well- i'll follow you home- but you dont have any plates, or insurance, or anything, and you were doing 2.5 times the posted speed limit- i should take you to jail.." so he followed me home and i parked my bike in the garage.. Next weekend i had an accident on it at the track causing me to not be able to walk right for 3 months.. and my bike was pretty messed up from landing nose down and breakin the forks off of it..

Re: Street RACING!!!!

O **** I would have been ****ting myself.

You really think it hit 110?

I would have thought most 125's run out of gearing at around 70? Maybe a little higher. Then again the newest 125 Ive rode on awas a 95. My 91 RM125 is sorta bilt now, but its geared slower. Im guessing top speed is around 75 in 6th WOT.

It was a beast for hill climbs. I have to get that thing running again. Man was that bastard quick for a 125. Well, 128 if you wanna get technical. lol

There will always be drug dealers too. There will always be rapists. There will always be serial killers. Get my point?

In New York there is NO ONE riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Even the toughest of tough guys on Harleys have to wear a helmet. Of course they wear the ones that look like the ones we wore in world war two but they are still legal. So it depends on the state I guess as to how strict they are with helmets (and seatbelts).

The point of this thread from the original starter was to start a flame war. Mission accomplished so thank you Mr. Troll. I have two teenagers so I am by no means foolish enought to think anything I type here will change anyones mind on street racing. Just like nothing I could say could ever make a rapist stop raping or a thief stop stealing and so on.

But as long as people want to keep this thread going then I'll be here to keep up the good side of this debate (and I use that term loosely)

I'm sorry to hear that. But that changes nothing in this debate. But it proves one thing though. There is no substitute for safety devices as they could save your life.

I do

People like Hardcore Racing, W2W and a slew of single digit club members do. Unfortunately it usually takes an extreme situation (jail or someone dying) to get people to stop street racing. I just hope you don't kill yourself. But even more so then that, I hope you don't kill an innocent motorist or pedestrian.

I get your analogy, and where you are trying to go with it, but I am sorry man; a street racer does not keep the some company as a rapist. Street racers aren't actively trying to do harm to anyone; I can't say the same for a rapist. Street racing is dangerous, but the street racing problem is hyped up far more in the media than it actually exists in real life. How many street racing deaths or related deaths are there a year? Probably not nearly as many as rapes there are, even just the reported ones.

As far as your helmets go- It depends on what states have helmet laws and what ones dont.. 58 % of the states in the US dont have helmet laws..

Point taken. But if a street racer kills an innocent bystander (it has happened) then that victoms family has lost a loved one. If a rapist rapes a woman then her family gets her counseling. But you're right that the rapist intends to cause harm where the street racer does not.

Drunk drivers is probably a much better analogy since they never intend to cause harm either. But like I said before, even one street racing death is one too many. Same with drunk driving.
