The louder it is, the more people will say things too lol.
I almost had my car taken away once because somebody told my step dad i was racing down our street when i know for a fact i was going 15mph(which was the speedlimit) and I had 2 witnesses to say i wasnt doing anything. So yea, you do get alot of crap for a loud car, just because you can hear someones car from inside your house doesnt mean they are speeding, but I guess its hard for older people to grasp the fact that some people like to hear their cars rumble over the sound of its rotating tires.

So then what are you talking about here? You just going off subject about him being young or are you talking about his ability to race?

Considering you mentioned mods and being about to beat a stock LS1 right after. Or am I still not grasping your definition of "inexperience"?

Again, less than two years of driving doesn't prepared for all events that takes place on the street, therefore, he lacked the driving experience. It's not that hard to understand this.

I said it appears that the LT1 driver had enough of mods to either keep up or beat LS1, I didn't say it will...it wasn't a definitive statement. There are far too many variables to make a explicit statement as to which car is faster.

So you were a great driver at 17, I'm happy for you, too bad you didn't try out as a pro driver, you could have been a contender.

Haha, my parents never threatened to take it off of me at least. They know how I am with it. I bought it totalled and rebuilt it myself. The time, money, and effort into it is too much to risk totalling it, at 17,000 origional miles, again doing something in the wrong place. I only get on it where its safe. And where I know I have no risk or hurting others. I dont even like getting on it with other people in the car. You never know what might happen.

Haha that is the truth. Even at around 20, alot of my friends make me so ****ing nervous in the car with them. Even when their not driving like they stole it.

Looks like he has just enough to keep up with one for a little bit but would still eventually get rubbed out.My Z28 had heads and gears and my stock LS1 was still faster from a roll and on the highway is was murder.

Real good kill!!!!! Sounds like he deserved a whooping! Now go throw a procharger on that beast!!...LOL

I agree. No 17 year old is as good as they think they are. When I was 17 i thought I was richard petty and john force rolled into one!

Over the years I often wonder how I lived this long as ignorant as a kid I was.

Re: Raced an LS1 TA Last night

Wow, you guys have no idea what im trying to get across, this race has nothing to do with anything other than shifting, which doesn't take long at all to learn to do right and fast (and I know your thinking of the 17 year old in his ricer weaving in and out of traffic with what we are discussing with the age issue). I'm not like you guys were when you were my age, I don't speed everywhere, I've got alittle more common since than to do an average of 50 in a 35, yes I do like to mess around little but the only time I really race when someone either provokes me (in lite/no traffic) to do it or I have it planned. Last thing I want to see is someone get hurt because of my or someone elses driving. When I said good at racing, I meant good at shifting, not as in good at doing 110 on the highway for no reason.

Wow this thread is still going. Somehow it now has nothing to do with "Racing a LS1 TA Last night" anymore.

Im not gonna lie though, I do think I am a way better-than-average driver for a 19 year old inexperienced or not ... No fender benders yet
