That was the slowest 45 roll I have ever seen that camaro needs a tune up or something sounded like my lawn more when I hit it from turtle to rabbit.

Re: LT1 vs 06 GTO

Yeah it is key and the GTO comes in at 9.25 lbs per hp while your car comes in with a pretty heavy 12.63 lbs. per hp. Not even close on that KEY factor. Maybe you better rethink who's sporting the garbarge barge.

So power/weight is a key factor when it comes to performance. The garbage barge isn't meant for everyone.

Re: LT1 vs 06 GTO

In that video, that car didnt even downshift ... Or at least it didnt sound like it. It sounded like it had to pull from idle up ... WTF?

Re: LT1 vs 06 GTO

that camaro was not racing, he was just filming the other two, i mean come on, i have a 94 z28 M6 and when i floor it from a roll (downshifting) its not that quiet and smooth in there. Also, I raced a 2005 350z when I worked at sheehy Nissan ( a Nissan dealership), and I smoked him . Lets say that z28 on the video was slower than my car but it still would not have lost by that much.
Just because you are trying to prove GTOs are fast to couple hardheaded people in this forum, you dont have to put down camaros.

Re: LT1 vs 06 GTO

they can put down the LT1 car all they want. its 10-15 yr old technology.
in 10 years they will be in the same boat we are.

either way i look at it, there hasnt been a GTO that i have seen at the track that has been the least bit impressive for having 400 hp. next time i go to the track i will get vid again. and its not like i am going there for just the GTO. i get vid of any fbody or mustang.

Re: LT1 vs 06 GTO

i have a 94 z28 m6 and an automatic 99 firebird 3.8l. But I dont understand why people put down the GTO, I wouldnt mind owning one if I could afford the payments + the insurance. Its pretty weird to compare a 2004 GTO with a 1994 z28, it doesnt take a genius to point at which one is better. Its like comparing a 1990 300z with 2004 350z and saying but my 16 year old has turbos.lol.

oh you're back! Hi there!
Pages and pages ago I already told you the f-body was heavy. I believe I referred to it as the "... anchor to the garbage barge..." I also told you I did not care to get into the bickering of stock/stock/mod/mod stupid retarded arguments. I already told you that argument is weak and is nothing more than an excuse and has nothing to do with real world runwhatchabrung racing. So basically you are arguing yourself into circles. The one item I will say is just imagine what kind of times could be achieved w/ the garbage barge if it were live axle and 300lbs lighter.
If you want to contribute to this discussion please bring something more substantial. Thank you.

I put it down because I just don't like it. I like nothing about it. I'm not impressed. For the money I'd rather buy a vette. If I want refinement then I'll seek other options. However that line of thinking isn't allowed by GTO owners. It's "wrong" because the GTO is just all that and more. If I want performance then I'll drive my turd bucket Camaro. If I want room for passengers and creature comforts I'll drive my wife's Maxima. That makes me happy. But it's wrong. LOL
