Im not saying a GTO isnt faster. If my car was stock, I wouldnt be putting up any cash for it. Even now, I wouldnt put money up on a race with one. I was just pointing out that you act like a stock LT1 can never break a 14.0 ... And properly driven, their pretty close, to a properly driven LS1 GTO.

I dont think your car is a piece of ****. I like them. I think their neat. I just DONT think their a muscle car, and to be one, they need to ditch the IRS and restyle the body on it. It looks to plain to me. But to each their own. Plain is neat to some, sleepers ... To those who dont know much about them. They dont look "fast" like a TA or Camaro does. Thats all

They aren't. They are a luxury sports sedan with the 30 to 50 something demographic in mind. With luxury comes added weight. Hence the weight of a garbage barge with Geo Prizm styling.

according to yella vette, gto's are the baddest cars on the planet.... just ask him. they're way better than everybody elses cars. faster too. actually gto's are the best g.m. product ever built. i think i'm gonna put my car for sale because it's so slow and crappy. maybe someday i can get a gto. then i'll be really cool.

Seriously....you're wrong. I've owned 4 lt1 vettes. I've been going to vette get togethers at Columbus and Commerce for years. I've never seen a stock lt1 vette run better than 13.7. Never seen a camaro (lt1) best 13.89. There are 13.1's here for the LS1 GTO. I didn't realize 13.1's are real close to 13.7's!? Hardcore, how can you say those times are real close? SSR and the other idiots, I realize that you just want to win a flame war and real facts no longer matter, so this is the last time I'll check this thread. I'm not brand loyal, I've 4 owned vettes, 2 porsches, 2 supra tt's, an M3, a 300zx tt, and a lightning. I've been on this board since 1997. I didn't post all this cause I'm protecting my ego or in love with Pontiacs (quite the opposite). I'm here because I know what I'm talking about more so than you guys do (being you don't own the car in question, and have most likely never even driven one). Make of that what you will. Seems to me, being that the LS1 gto runs very similar times to the LS1 camaro, even if it is a performance killing, pavement cracking, full second eating 200 lbs. heavier (you actually have to have a special license to operate it according to SSR) would make it a cool car in most peoples eyes.

Check out last month's motortrend and the 975 hp gto, or Rod Millen's championship drift gto or the numerous 10 sec. cars at xxxgto.com Did something happen to the LS1 when they put it in a GTO? Last I checked it was a great fr*ckin engine. And before you say anything about the weight, SSidiot, 200 lbs makes a .2 and 2 mph difference, no more or less, so please stfu.
