I do the same thing. I don't understand where there's a problem. So the guy doesn't rev back at you, that makes him a cocky corvette owner? So, that means when other people don't rev at me and I just shake my head, that I'm a cocky camaro owner? Not everyone wants to race on the street, or race at all.

Also, I'm sure you put the same show on when a Civic or other import rolls next to you with a huge *** wing or a loud *** exhaust. I'm sure you just laugh and move on.

Read the whole post and you will see thats not the reason I was calling him a cocky corvette owner, that just makes him an @$$hole.

Theres a difference between me revving at him and him laughing and a little rice rocket revving at me. I'm in the same class as that vette as far as power, speed, sound, etc. I'd laugh at a civic because it is way undermatched, barring engine/performance work(had to add that so Sergio wouldn't get upset and cry about it).

Also, as I have said already, I wasnt trying to race him. I just revved at him, it wasnt a ping-it-off-the-rev-limiter rev, just a little hey-how-ya-doin rev. He was the one who acted like a d!ck about it.

I never rev at people. Just beat them, or not.

Last time I checked the parts they use in those motors are pure custom billets with 500ci motors that dont resemble anything they remotely use on their street vehicles

Overspun roots blower? -- Nope
Billet 500ci block? Nope
Mid engine rear wheel drive? Nope
Nitromethane injection? Nope

The quickest Honda right now is a 6 sec 3.XL 6cyl that traps 210ish....havent seen a V6 camaro run that fast but we can give it time

You can go buy an NSX anytime you want....didnt see the Top Fuel dragster at the Chevy dealer last time I went....whats the retail on a mid-engine rwd chevy these days....oh, they dont make one....such a shame really

You have no room to talk when you say these domestic guys pick on your 4 banger. You talk just as much **** about these "ho-hum" motors as they do about your underpowered turd. You will never see a 2 liter 4 cylinder or a 3.5 liter V6 making 7000 hp. There's a reason top fuel teams use 500+ ci Hemis...they go fast. You guys just want to be able to say, "you may have 7000 hp, but we have 500 hp/liter...yeah, but you only have 2 litres." There in lies your problem. The end product is what matters, not the hp/litre or any of that BS.
Who competes in Top Fuel....count the OEMs

Who competes in F1 count them

There is a reason why no other OEM wastes the resoureces on 500ci blocks......because they will never use them in their production cars....your only racing yourself and on top of that the rules are so tight no one can actually make a change for the better....instead of a roots blower they should be using turbos...but they wont...wanna know why....'cause blowers are the murrican thing to have on ur V8

NASCAR is the same thing.....they go round and round with carb'd V8's in a tube frame chassis and say "the testing we do in NASCAR helps us design better motors for our new cars" When the technology is ancient and again...they race themselves

When is the taurus suppsed to come equipped with a carb's V8? or a V8 period?

STOCK class racing should resemble what it was when the idea came to be.....grab a Taurus and a Monte Carlo and battle ...thats a race...the OEMs would build faster cars from the factory so they could be more competitive on the track on race day now...the Taurus is a fwd 6 as is the monte carlo and the Impala....so NASCAR trickled down into designing a fwd 6cyl thats fuel injected?

Its silly and shows that the American OEMs dont care...murricans wanna drink bud and watch Earnhardt Jr. go in cirlces with thier favorite OEM symbol on the side of his car...they dont care about turbos, injecors, variable valve timing, variable lift....they just wanna see a bowtie and the oval and drink end of NASCAR story

Whats the fastest car you can buy from Chevy? Now who makes the fastest production car...cause it aint chevy...check the motor size....6.0L hmm it makes 660hp with all that overhyped technology...what does the Z06 make with the super pushrod technology?

Murricans are stuck on tradition, everybody else just wants what is faster

As opposed to your everyday 1500 HP hondas? I forgot again, what Honda F1 motor are they putting in civics these days? What 4 rotor are they putting in Rx8s?

Can you please make a valid argument, or stop posting, its getting ridiculous.

You gotta be kidding me. If variable valve timing and all this new technology is so great, why is the NSX still sucking on the Z06's tailpipe? Don't even try telling me it wouldnt. Honda uses newer technology, wheres its real heavy hitter.

If your talking about those production exotics, how about we look at price. Ferrari Enzo? 11.3 1/4 times. Z06 with 500K worth of work? How bout a single digit car with a few 100K left over.

Please just leave before you make yourself look even dumber.

Now you're comparing an Enzo to a Zo6? Brilliant. Chevrolet could build a 600 hp, 2 valve LSX that makes 600 hp. But why? If they did, it would be a limited production car just like the Ford GT is and just like Ford will lose money on the Ford GT, so would Chevy on their 600 hp C6. There's a reason why GM is the largest auto manufacturer in the world and why Ford is now #3 (behind Toyota). I like how you rip on pushrod technology, yet you have no counter to the fact that they still power the fastest cars on the planet.

Its the 028 link....its in Japanese but basically its says more than 1000ps and their Hall has the engine dis-assembled with 1500ps which was an estimate based on acceleration values much like Top Fuel dragsters use since they cant "dyno" a motor that lasts a few seconds

So Marc...how many F1 championships does Chevy have these days? Riiight....guess their pushrod technology is no match for hydrolically lifted vales they use in F1 right....or the carbs they use in NASCAR are too "high tech"
All I see is "over 1000ps" So that begs the question - what does "ps" mean? Did they forget the "o" in between? And again, that is an estimate, and still 500 shy of your intial claim assuming ps=hp.

Why doesn't Chevy race in F1? Because F1 is a foreign market. Chevy is a domestic manufacturer. This isn't rocket science Why doesn't Honda race in NASCAR? Same reason.

The Taurus DID come with a V8, albeit FWD, but still a V8. Called a SHO. Look into it sometime

NASCAR runs pushrods and carbs because that's what the rules state. This isn't open class racing here dope! The rules were set decades ago, and its a tradition they stick to. Just a couple decades ago the NASCAR cars were reaching F1 speeds (well over 210mph), with bricklike aero, carbs, pushrods, and all that other ancient tech crap.

As a final note: The 500ci Top Fuel cars resemble a stock Amercian V8 car as much as your "6 second Honda" resembles a stock Japcrap car - including the overrated NSX.

NASCAR engines make around 750+/- HP. Show me ANY Honda that can touch that, naturally aspirated. DOHC, IMRC, VTEC, any displacement, whatever, I don't care...
