That IS painful...

The Z sounds like its got a soft clutch... might want to check that out; could just be some digital anomoly, but it didn't sound right.

Lightenings are quick trucks... Which is what makes taking them down so much fun; We had one running last night pulling high 8s... which is low 13s... possibly high 12s...

But the MOST fun I've had with one is at a light which feeds into a right only, sweeping turn, onto a 35 MPH notorious speed trap.

Dude was to my right on the inside lane; I had the Tees off, the radio blasting and he's got that "I'm own you" smirk on his face...

LOL... Dude Busts it out of the hole and I rolled him up in a 30 degree skid burnout. When It hooked towards the top of second, I slapped the 3/4 car lead to 2 cars in a matter of a few seconds.

We're both doing twice the limit in the bad lands... and got out of it at that point; but he leans over at the next light to tell me how much heavier he is... seemingly missing the whole 'blower' thing... FTR: I was N/A on that run.

The exhuast cut out made a big difference atleast to me seeing that vid and have done exhuast cut outs on my past LT1's and top end makes a big difference. I think the Lightening is a bad *** truck and he did have intake and exhuast. Your talking about a car that has 275 HP under the hood 93 models bone stock with the mods he has maybe tops 280-290 although through experience seen about 270-275rwhp avg and yes it does weigh alot less then a lightening but 390 hp atleast is still a challenge and im glad he posted the vid since most people like to post vids when they convincingly win. Also having both auto and 6speed and racing both versions several times on the LT1 cars specifically there is a huge difference in auto and 6speed. I raced my friends T/A Auto with exhuast and intake and my Z28 6speed both LT1 cars and i absolutly trashed him in one gear, the stall does make a difference but not 5 car lengths in one gear pull. For being a auto its a very good race and its not a fully bolt on Z going up against a truck with alot more power.

It was so easy getting 12's in the truck I could not believe it....all while weighing in at a light 4700 lbs race weight.
I was manhandled by this truck for a long time, took all the typical bolt-ons +cam+LT+gears+converter for me to finally beat CantonRacers truck. The flying brick.

Regarding buying a Lightning of this Gen, i'd highly suggest some of you go drive one. I used to drive CantonRacers around town, to the track - race it at the track: That was one of the nicest vehicles i've ever driven. A total thrill to drive and completely docile. I loved that truck
