06 GT vs 97 LT1 vid
Ive seen 3 05/06 GT's run at our track. They ranged from 14.4's -14.6's @ low 96's to high 97's in the trap. I believe they were auto's because of the lower trap speed but would have expected lower e.t.'s.
Good kill.
Good kill.
Mr. Skinner
Whew, That was well put. Guess you showed me
Lets see.... You say Ford didnt make any vehicles that went fast. Hmmm What about the Lightning? Na ,you'd smoke it in your Holier than thou LT1 too. Also another brilliant comment from the forum rocket scientist
"Take any year BOTH the Camaro and Mustang were made and the Camaro pummels the Mustang" Ummmm...03-04 Cobra perhaps.
and remember you said Camaro vs Mustang, not vette and not GTs.
I figure you will tell me next how your LT1 puts the smackdown on them too
This is waaay too funny. Guys in my car club are reading this laughing their asses off at your explanation and logic of how great your car is.
LMFAO
LT1 vehicles are classics and I love them as much as any of my LS1 or Stangs in my stable, but your thought process is end all be all LT1. Why you may ask? Because YOU own it. If you owned an LS1 vette you would probably be arguing with the modded LT1 guys about how they cant compare with YOUR awesome ride.
Get my picture dude?
This is not about LT1, LS1 or any Stang made. This is about how YOUR car is the greatest and ours...( even though we owned the same cars as you ) were not comparable to YOURS
Junior , you need to go ahead. Pitch your tantrum and call me/us a few more explitives and get it out of your system.

Please excuse the tardiness in my reply, I was out of town. First, the Lightening is a TRUCK and is not a fair comparison, and in most cases a high 13s one at that so its not even really any faster then the fastest Stang GT. And since the last Camaro was made in 2002, I ask again and I'll clarify my question since Im sure you will nitpick on me if i dont. When did a Z28 vs GT, or SS vs Cobra match end with the Mustang outperforming the Camaro? Also, when did I compare an LT1 with an LS1? That had nothing to do with what we were talking about, but since you felt inclined to tell me what my opinion on the matter would be, allow me to fill in a few thoughts that might have slipped my mind at the time. I would actually be of the opinion that the LS1 is by far a superior engine to the LT1. The heads flow twice as good (it will make 415 at the wheels with a cam and boltons), the engine is lighter, the ignition system is light years ahead and its easier to work around under the hood. That opinion would be true if the LS1 were in a Vette or Camaro. Also, I never compared the Vette to the Camaro. There yet again was another comparison you totally failed to understand the point of my arguement. Allow me to restate to make it easier. I said that for years and years that Ford had nothing that went fast except for the Mustang, until the GT came along. Chevy always had the Vette and Camaro when Ford had the Mustang. A barebones C5 could be had for under 40K, not a huge gap between that an an expensive Camaro, therefore the Camaro and Vette were in most cases marketed towards the same segments, since they were affordable by the masses. Please make note I said BAREBONES C5, not ZO6 or C6. The Mustang is not losing any sales to the Ford GT, most of the people that can afford to buy the GT already have a Mustang. Read it twice if you have to. And I also never claimed to the the "forum rocket scientist, far from it actually. I did however again take your arguement and shread it. ***. Please pardon my profanity.

i'm just glad these kind of arguments are still being generated. parking lots and cruising is almost a thing of the past. i remember when (yes i'm old and allowed) when i was in dallas back in the early to mid '90's... you could go out either fri or sat and see anywhere between 50 to hundreds of people at the local street race hangouts... very sad. nice to know we can still at least get on a forum and talk teh ****...
i long for the days when i can go to a certain spot and cruise around w/ other car enthusiast meat heads.

Mr. Skinner, did you forget about the 80's? An LX would generally run faster than the Z28. Or are we just talking about '93-'02? Just trying to get some clarification on this.
Good kill by the way. There is always going to be a faster car somewhere, no matter what year or brand the other car is. Hell, I wouldn't be pissed if I got smacked down by a 3rd Gen or Fox Body if they had the right mods. Now if only half of the LS1 guys could see it that way.

Show us, the uninformed , that the 80's Fox bodies WERE NOT, out performing the 80's F-bodies. All you have to do is Google stats for both cars. Not to hard to do.
The best thing to do is to just admit it when your wrong. Being that your such a car aficionado, you already know your wrong. That or as mentioned before, you own a Camaro, so the Camaro just can't have ever of been a lesser car.
Heck, look at the Fox bodies that are still running with the newer more modern cars. Those things are cheap to mod and put down some sweet numbers for cheap. Mikie, didn't you have a pretty fast Fox body in the past?

1970s belonged to camaro, 1980s belonged to mustang and the early 1990s through 2002 was camaro. http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html these are more like a guide line. ive seen a few #s that are wrong.
Nope, I think you maybe thinking about Mike92LX that frequents the boards. The one I have in my signature now is my recent purchase and to be honest ...my first Fox. I have been through the cars in my sig and still own the 97 LT1 Trans am. It is apart right now being prepped for track only racing.
The Current Fox I own has only the couple bolt ons and I ran it right before the track closed down and turned a 8.83 @ 79 mph in the 1/8th ...not too shabby for any car on street tires.
The Foxes can be lethal fast if modded correctly as I think Mike92LX is currently in the low 11s and looking for 10s in the 1/4. I have not spoke with him in quite a while though.
