POsi Trac
POsi Trac
Ok guys I need your help....I definely need more traction in my 94 z28 ....I have allot of power under this auto tranmission..with upgrades including 383 stroker, forged internals, flat head pistons, kn intake system, and flowmaster catback...from what I hear posi trac is the way to go but what other options do I have? And how much is positrack for this car and where can I find the part? I know I definely need new tires but wat else?
Thanx
Thanx
SO what now for traction
ok well if they come stock with posi trac then what else can i do for tractions..What are my options that will really prevent burnout and give me a huge grip on the road? I already have purchased great tires..but need more to gurantee traction....I wanna b able to go as if I had 4 wheel drive
What "great tires" do you have? ....brand, model and size? What wheels are you running? ....stock or aftermarket?
Do you have any suspension mods at all? Is your car stock ride height or lowered?
Are you racing on a prepped track, or on the street?
Sticky tires, tubular LCA's with LCA relocation brackets, a tubular panhard rod would be a good start. With enough HP, the torque arm may need to be upgraded to one that allow you to adjust the pinion angle.
What rear axle assembly are you running? ... stock 10-bolt, or an aftermarket rear (12-bolt, 9-inch, or Dana 60)? What gear ratio are you running? Do you have a high-stall converter?
What kind of HP is the engine making? "allot" doesn't really tell us anything.
Almost impossible to tell you what you need to do to improve traction, without all the details about the car.
Its possible to hook up really well with a stock-style suspension, modified with upgraded parts. But there is no way a rear-wheel drive car will ever "go as if I had 4 wheel drive".

Why not add a "signature" with basic info about your car?
