Factory Rack, no pump?

If you run the two lines together how good does it steer? What's the best way to accomplish this?

I'm investigating this now as I am going to delete my AC/PS and run SJM bracket to move the alternator lower. You need to call SJM; they were very friendly and knowledgable. Their suggestion was to keep the reservoir and lose the pump. The OEM rack needs the fluid as to not blow the seals out is my understanding.

You can do it that way but you have to make sure its full of fluid. If you are half full you will hit air pockets and the steering will feel funny.

Other way is to just remove both lones, drain the rack by turning it lock to lock a few times (catching the fluid that comve out obviously) and capping them.

I run my car this way. Its rough but its a race car. If I have to turn other than at the end of the track the last think I am worried about is my rack

yup, Hoosier front runners and everything is gone. Its not too bad honestly. As long as your moving the wheel isnt too hard to turn. If you stop, forget it. You really have to plan your turns.
