Baer Rotors? Turn or Not?

I have the Baer GT+ kit slotted and cross-drilled and am in the process of replacing the pads. The rotors look good, but have a wear lip. Is it ok to turn these rotors?

Thanks,

Loren

This should be posted in the "Suspension.... Brakes" forum, not on LT1 Engine Tech.

I was under the impression that you can't turn drilled/slotted rotors.. That's what I thought I read when I bought my D/S rotors for the front of my car..

Re: Baer Rotors? Turn or Not?

Well since I got one "yes" and one "no", I decided to wait until today and call Baer. Baer says not to turn the rotors. Furtermore, if the rotors are turned the lifetime warpage warranty is forfeited. Just FYI for all Baer brake guys.

Thanks,

Loren

Re: Baer Rotors? Turn or Not?

My neighbor, who manages a muffler/brake shop says he can turn them.
Baer, who would be happy to sell you replacement rotors, says don't turn them.
I'm not sure this question has been answered yet. Does Baer recommend changing pads without turning the rotors? Or do they recommend new rotors at every pad change? Neither of those options sounds so great to me.BTW I have Baer brakes so I would be interested in more info on this.

Hey Bud,

Why don't you call up Baer and see what they tell you. I'd like more info as well.

Thanks,

Loren

Re: Baer Rotors? Turn or Not?

*I think* Baers reasoning is that turning rotors weakens them, and takes off too much material. Whenever I change pads, I just hit the rotors well with some sand paper (or something similar) to scuff up the rotors, and reduce any high points that have occured.

Isn't turning more for warped rotors anyway?
