nah i tried to get my skinny little arms down past the exhaust manifolds and up through the y-pipe and burnt the crap out of them so i gave up

but, i've found that if i mess with the #4 fuel injector, like shove it in, disconnect the connector and push the wires farther in, and just generally shove the fuel injector around, the symptoms seem to subside a bit. i'm getting a set of FI's from a guy from this board this friday so we'll see if its that, or the electrical connector. problem is i think that electrical connector is part of the main wiring harness, which retail price is something like $1,200 (like 700 from GM parts direct) ... no way i'm going to pay that much cause a 50 cent POS connector went bad. someone mentioned i might be able to buy the pigtail then splice it in place. if replacing the injector doesn't work, then i'll try that.

It'll splice.

Do you have any fuel leaking around the injector's O-ring? It could also just be the seal. Sounds like you've about got it licked.

not that i can tell. it might be leaking and i just can't see it cause its evaporating at a high enough rate.

i wonder how much the set of o-rings costs from the dealer, can't be too much... unless they come as a part of the injector. i'll ask in the LT1 board what the part# is.

I used to have an F150 that ran rough sometimes. A couple of the O-rings were bad and you could see a little bit of a stain around the injectors from fuel leaking out. I wouldn't worry about that though. If you can slap a seperate injector in there it'll have an O-ring already on it. Plus you'll be able to tell if the old O-ring is messed up when you pull the old injector out. It was just a passing thought that I figured I would mention.

hmm i think i remember that paper-like orange sleeve looked like it was slightly waterstained last i had the injectors out for the intake leak... but that was months ago.

hopefully i'll find out this weekend.

one of the orange sleeve things broke off, and like 2 or 3 were about to break off last i had them out. i'm thinking i might replace just #4 at first, and if no difference replace them all and see what happens.

i might want to also just take off the valve covers and see if anything is loose in there, the gaskets can be re-used can't they?
