Its got a 5.7 lt1 engine. I don't hear the fuel pump but it has 20psi. How much should it have? Could the regulator be bad? The gas tank is full so I dread taking that out.

With the key on it should have around 35-40 PSI.

It COULD be the fuel filter but chances are it is the pump. Not sure were the pump is on the caprice/roadmasters. However if it is in the tank i bet the work to change it hurts a lot less then the $700 a shop would charge you.

Could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator. Take the vacuum compensation line off the regulator and look for wet fuel.

We put a new fuel pump in and we have 40lbs now. But theres no injector pulse. The injector fuses are good. Any ideas?

Have you scanned it for codes? A missing low resolution pulse from the Opti optical sensor causes the PCM to shut down the fuel system including the pump and the injectors.

I'm gonna scan it for codes tommorow. We just replaced the opti and it ran fine. Then it was hard to start for a few days. Now it won't start at all.

Well I scanned it, no codes came up. It uses and old obd1 connector. We're gonna try the ignition module today and a new computer tommorow. We were told the ignition module is part of the FI system.

Well we figured it out, the tab on the electrical plug on the opti broke a few weeks ago. The wire got pulled out at some point while I was working on it. Plugged it in and it started right up, lol. But the fuel pump was bad.
