My windshield turned PURPLE!!!!

I just noticed today that my windshield tint strip (the one that comes from the factory) has turned purple! I've had my car parked in the sun for over a year and a half now, but only within the last week have I noticed the drastic change in color. I read a post from before about someone having problems with acid rain, and I'm wondering if this has contributed to the problem. I am going to try an abrasive to get it off now, but I'm not sure if it'll work. Surely I can't be the ONLY fbody owner that parks their car in the sun year round. Anyone else have this problem?

every tint will go purple, its just a matter of time. There is nothing you can do about it other than replace it. The better the tint the longer it takes to go purple.

Ok, several things here:

The tint at the top of the glass that comes from the factory is IN the glass, not on the inside or outside so there is not way acid rain or spotting of any kind could effect it in any way. Your windshield is TWO pieces of glass glued together, hence "saftey glass"

If you do have a strip of tint at the top of your windsheild with a defined edge it did not come that way from the factory, someone has applied it and you can just remove it and put on another.
