There will be a meeting on the last Sunday of every month regardless of weather. This is a definete thing so you will always know that there is going to be a meeting. Where it will be will depend on Mike aka SleeperZragtop. he will provide that info. I belive though, that we will be trying to get together for the Easter Charity cruise on the 20th of April i Langley. The money goes to Shaun aka 97TA-WS6-Con. He is the treasurer. Glad to hear your willing to come out. The more people we have the more doors will open and the more things we can do.

For anyone squabbling about the $40, my opinion is this:

The two times I've been to meetings, I've probably saved at least HALF of that $40 already in free food and beverages offered by the Avalon. I see no reason to complain about the fee, as by the end of a season, I will be far ahead, plus-minus wise.

Personally, I DO have a problem with anyone who shows up for all the meetings, scarfs down the free food that the Avalon gives us, and then doesn't bother to pay into the club. Getting freebies is definitely being part of the club and part of the fee.

$40 bucks is a small price to pay PER YEAR if you are someone who will consume large ammounts of food & beverages at group meetings. -lol- think all you can eat :P

..what else is this 40 dollar for? from what i've been hearing it is so far for the food at the avalon...

How many times do we have to go over this???

The $40 includes but is not limited to:

*Club discounts (parts, events, retailers, etc.)
*Food/Drinks at meetings
*Priority Registration (auto-x, track days, dyno days, events, etc.)
*Website Member Page
*Official BCTFB status
*Etc.

I've probably missed something, but all info should be contained in one of the 3000 previous posts regarding this topic .

I remember paying 10 bucks at the previous meet for food? Did you get free food?

Yes we all should have paid at the first meeting at the Avalon, when we went on the cruise as far as I know. However, if you were at the last meeting, the Manager came out and personnal;y gave us free Nachos and Pop for having the meetings there. He also said that we would get a 10% discount if we tell him we are from the club.

This means that if you eat there and spend on average 25-30 dollars you'll save $2.50-$3.00. You do that just at the avalon 10-15 times and youre membership is paid for. Even if you don't eat there that much , if you include all the other places that you get discounts at then you still end up saving.
To prevent abuse of this I suggest we get the mebership cards done up and you only get the discount if you have a card. On it would be a list of all the places we can get discounts at.

What is with all these cheap people? The club is a benifit for us and you will always have start-up costs. I go to school full time and can find some way to earn a measly $40. $40 doesn't even get you a full take of gas anymore. Stop being cheap people!!!

You paid $10? I paid $15. But I always kick in extra (for a tip).

Anyways, the first meeting was all you could eat. For $10, that is a steal at the Avalon because a single plate of chow mein costs $12 there. Pop was free too. At the Feb 2003 meet, you could have easily had two or three plates, like I did, and a couple of pops. That is $20+ of free food for me.

At the March meet, Pop was free, Nachos were free, and Samosas were free.

What can I say other than that is free food.

It's just Armen

The $40 will definately pay itself off and well it helps the club get off the gorund and get some exposure. We all love these cars and well it would be great to have a local group that will grow and be known. We are going to have some very fast cars running out there and it will be great when people know who we are If you look at any of the other local clubs they charge an initiation charge as well as a yearly fee. The $40 will definately pay itself off in no time and will help the club get off the ground. If there is a big surplus then of course we will consider lowering the yearly fee or make some adjustments.
