How much does $40 get these days...not much, but this is a totally worth while event IMO. A point to add to what Sandeep said: The $40 is like giving commitment to show up to the meetings and keep this club alive. You are more likely to show up if you have something at stake...ie: $40. Arem, I have the $20 for you parts I bought off you, so you really only have to throw down a $20

Showing up at the meets, eating, talking, mingling and cruising is cool, but it does take time and effort for those things to happen. The $40 dollars is a little price to pay for greatness. The club is something we should be proud to be a part of. And in order to be recognized in the auto enthusiast community it will take time and a bit of money to get it off the ground.
For example one of the issues we covered at the meeting was club discounts. We already have a discount at the Avalon. And we will soon be looking at club discounts at auto parts stores. So really the membership fee will pay itself off and then some. The more people we get involved in the club the more successfull it will be.
It would be awesome to be recognized as the most feared street car club in BC and have everyone bow down to the F-Bodys.

Have I got a proposition for you my friend. We race, if I win you pay for my membership, if I lose you keep your 20. What do you say to that?

The membership fee has already been decided by the meeting attendees. IMO if someone doesn't/didn't like this factor, they should have voiced their concern at either one of our 5 meetings (3 last year, 2 this year). There was plenty of time to discuss this already...the issue is resolved. There is a fee, case closed .

BUT, events will NOT be limited to those that are part of the Team. Anyone is welcome to attend any of our events...members however will receive priority, discounts and other benefits.

I thought you couldn't race until you had your suspension fixed?
Or were you just scared at PK?
It'll probably cost you $40 bucks to show up to meet Andy race him.

All I can say is.....Armen you were at meetings when the club fee was discussed and you didn't have any concerns at that time to discuss any aspect of it. Yet when your back behind the computer you have a lot to say. Come to the next meeting and speak up if you have a big issue with it. The use of the fees has been covered many times and Sandeep put it very well in the post above

Actually I did bring up the fee at both meets, at the avy and at that abc country restaurant. I had suggested the fee be 40 dollars for a lifetime membership but it you guys had pretty much made up your minds.

No trash talking here man, my car is slow so you have nothing to fear. I've just made a friendly challenge to you. You owe the 20 bones so the stakes have just risen by 20, what's the big deal?

UMM.. I thought it was a lifetime membership? Correct me if I'm wrong. But either way, $40 a year is nothing anymore. Maybe if it is a yearly fee, we can do $40 initiation which includes 1 year and $20 a year after that?
