Window switch problem?

Ok well i hooked everything up and the N02 isn't spraying. we checked with an am-meter and we are thinking it's the window switch.. anyone have problems with it before???
Another test we did was when it was in park we held the WOT switch down, reved to 4,000 (it's set at 3,000 for testing purposes) and over rid the FPSS, so i'm thinking. Any help at all weould be awesome, thanks guys,

I just start my car, disconnect the N2O lines to the plate and leave the fuel hooked up. I hold the WOT switch down and rap the throttle, getting it up past the low RPM limit. If it is working correctly, you should get the white spray from the N2O lines and the motor will bog some letting you know that the fuel is flowing. I would just re-check you wiring ans if it is still a problem, you can bypass the FPSS. I have done that with mine also.

I would retrace all of your wiring then for the window switch. If you do not find anything wrong, I would contact MSD, they have a really good tech department. What kind of n2o kit are you running? I am using a TNT kit, but all the wiring should be the same. Good luck.

We did check all the wiring. (I was the one helping him )

All the wiring is good, it came back to the window switch. I Tested it independantly, and could not get it to activate.
I think it may be broke. The only other theory I could come up with (and it's a weak one) was, maybe the fact that it was grounded to the same ground as the Brake controller. The reason I say this, because since the installation, the abs light has been on.

Anyone ever heard about ground interference, relating to this?

Could be the window switch, or you could have grabbed the wrong tach line. I think there are 2. One low level and one high level. U need the high. but??????

Make sure your fuel and nitrous is constantly getting power (connect both to a positive connection). connect the other end to the yellow line from the window switch. MSD doesn't state it, but it sends out a ground, not a positive signal. I had the same problem, called the tech line, once they told me that I had it hooked up in 10 mins.

As Far as grabbing the wrong tach line, I'm pretty sure i got the right one. I'm not sure what you mean by high and low, but it's the ground that you want to hook up to.

I assume that my solinoids would be getting power if the relay was activating. The wiring is all good. I'll have to call MSD and see what they have to say. The fact that it's ground switched is interesting. I may have to try a better ground.

by the way, right now I'm bypassing the Fuel Pressure switch. how do I tune it to my needs?

The wiring diagram on my nitrous kit shows the following for wiring the MSD Window switch.

White wire - Tach Wire.....to my MSD box.
Red wire - to a hot source......to my battery.
Yellow wire - to the relay, port #85. this is what you splice your FPSS into. Just run the yellow whire through the FPSS.
Black wire - Ground wire....just attach to a good frame ground.

You can go ahead and tune your car with the nitrous without the FPSS, it will not have any affect onthe tuning. the guy that helped my install my FPSS used a setup with an air hose to set teh FPSS. He had the correct connections alond with a voltmeter and pressure guage to set it.

Good luck!

fpss is basically just to protect yourself if your fuel pressure drops below the desired pressure in your fuel rail, so really has nothing to do with tuning, i dunno how you really tune a n2o kit off the dyno anyway, sounds to me like a problem with the switch itself as its a pretty straitfoward install.

what he meant is how to tune the FPSS to the right fuel pressure you want to use. The window switch is attached to the green wire. I was told this is the right one.

Have you tried bypassing the windows switch? When you do, you should hear/feel the solenoids click when you push on the WOT switch.
