ZO6 MAF Question

I need to get a new MAF for my 96 Z28. I've heard of the Z06 85mm?! being cheaper. So, I might as well go that route.
Anybody can provide me with a link or information as to what would I need to do to make one of these work on my car?
I'm assuming I can get it at any dealership. Any particular year I need to order? Harness, or any parts I'd need? Any vendors that may sell them as a plug and play?

Sorry about too many questions, I remember looking at a thread about this a while back, but I'm just too busy at work right now to do a search. Just a quick help from you guys would do.
Thx-Goose

Right on!
That's all I need bud. One click, and all my questions are answered.

One more question... Is this thing worth the effort? It really doesn't matter to me, i just need a MAF, and this one fits the bill.
Thanks again.

That one is a Plug-n-play, but I've heard of some issues with running it, similar issues to a ported MAF.

You can run the stock GM unit (This is what I run personally) with an adapter cable from Ramchargers (Call and ask for Kevin, he'll know what you need, ~$20), and a reprogram of your PCM for the correct MAF table. (I have the table if you need it)

The LS1speed unit is a hacked GM stocker that's supossed to work with our PCM, but no one really knows what the correct MAF table for it is, so no one really knows if it's accurate.

This has been debated, and a confusing issue for a while, most people don't realize there is a difference between the "Z06" 85mm MAF that these aftermarket companies market, and the Stock GM MAF that came on the Z06 Vette.

The only MAF you should use is the stocker, aftermarket ones are a BAD idea they try to trick the pcm into running the motor leaner than it is programmed for.

The ZO6 one is good to a lower HP than what your stocker is and they are calibrated poorly, I had tables copied from a ZO6 LS1 Edit table and it still ran rich. EW tested them and found calibration to vary something like 10%. If you really want to try it I have one with a plugin harness no wire cutting needed, reprogramming is a MUST, but like I said I still couldn't get it to work right.

I've had mine running PERFECT for 2 years... Took the table from a '02 Z06 Vette my friend ownes, interpolated it for the values in the LT1 PCM...

Oh, and my BLMs are +/- 4 of 128...

Would it be possible to get a copy of those tables? I tried this when it was a new thing, maybe you got better info than I did.

I have a spare pcm and am looking at some dyno time soon might be an interesting test.

Yeah, I would definitely be interested in the MAF tables. Also, do you have the GM Z06 MAF p/n, by chance?
My car would be dyno tuned, so, I think my mechanic can program those values into my PCM.
Thanks again.

There's the file...

I don't have the P/N off hand, but just call your chevrolet dealer and ask for a MAF for a 2002 Z06 Vette. I believe GMpartsdirect still has the best pricing, although Jason Cromer could be just as good.

Hehe! I'm still looking into doing the Z06 MAF, but just got busy since I last replied to this thread.
I've got a question for you...
Can the Z06 MAF sold by LS1Speed be re-calibrated using the table you've provided us? What would be the difference between getting the GM Z06 one and re-do the tables as opposed to do the same thing to the LS1 Speed one?
Thx-Goose

EDIT: Nevermind, I've just read the whole thread again, and found the answer.
