Hmm so all the people ordering LT4 intakes form summit and jegs are going to be pissed lol. Still it is good to see Edelbrock is stepping up to the plate and helping the LTX guys out.

Here you go......

LOL I need to dig up this old edelbrock catalog my buddy gave me a while back. I told him he was crazy when he said that Edelbrock had a aftermarket LT1 intake. Well he proved me wrong. I guess it was a total flop since most guys just ported theirs. I guess Edelbrock finally has a market now. But I dont think that old one was a air gap though.

Nice Just seen it on the website. I wonder what Type of gains can be associated with this intake. I hope some of the intake Gurus Chime in here.
I suppose we need more info ON specs on this intake, before judement can be made. I wonder how the Air gap will influence the Flow, it states 6500 RPM, that would be nice from it out of the Box, Port work on this would yield even more.

Thanks I was dying to see what it looked like!!!!! now they need to step up and make a single plane intake for the lt1 so we dont have to spend 1200 to have one made peace

I'm curious to see if they added any plenum volume to it or tapered the runners at all. There's a lot they could have done but did they??

The timing of this sreams to me that they just dusted off one of the old failed designs to take advantage of the current demand. They don't need to make an improved intake people are stupid enough to buy one wether it is better or not. From that rather poor pic looks like plenum volume was decreased if anything, sad.

One thing's for sure Dwayne, you're consistently optimistic! *sarcasm off*

On the other side of the issue... it's good to see someone building something for the LT1.

Let's leave the verdict to the dyno shall we.

Re: For you people who want/need an LT4 Intake Manifold

It would be better if we all just BLINDLY swallowed whtever load of bull the aftermarket fed us right?
The hell with the cam, stall gears what we all really need is a hypertech, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, bigger injectors and a granatelli MAF and we'd all be running 9s right............................................. .................................................. .................................................. ...............in the eighth that is.

I think the current LT4 intake problem will drive an improved intake to the market I am sure there are a handful of campanies working on it and this is the kick in the pants they need to prioritize it, going to take a little time to get the bugs worked out and the item in production though. Edelbrock's late model track record is pretty poor, OEMs leaving less room for simple improvement, that Performer I put on a mid-80s 305 in a 4X4 I had was great though.

No, don't swallow anything you don't want.

By the same token, don't make assumptions that you have no basis for making. Unless you were directly involved in the development of THIS intake then I don't really understand the relevence of your opinion towards it. You know what they say about "lack of data" and "opinions" right?

The LT4 intakes weren't the best, and Edelbrock makes all the GMPP castings so at least they will be nice castings.

Re: For you people who want/need an LT4 Intake Manifold

LT1's aren't doing to bad as far as the aftermarket goes for such a small market of potential customers.

Think about it, within the last 2 years or so they have made......

1. More cylinder heads....... Edelbrock and Trickflow introduced.

2. Alternative ignitions...... Delteq & eventually the new MSD OPTI (LTCC has been out for a while)

3. New intake manifolds....... Edelbrocks LT1 & LT4 intake.

Not to shabby if you ask me.

But think of it this way, the price of the LT1 cars are falling which makes them more and more available to the gear heads. Which means their is a big chance there is going to be an even bigger market out there. Now weather manufactures choose to try to supply this market is their choice. But IMO the LT1's will be become what the 5.0 became. Let's face it, the 5.0 has a huge aftermarket... why? Because those cars are much more inexspenive to purchase, and became a very popular engine swap. It may take a few more years, but I think the LT1 will become the next budget engine to build.

Hey I may be wrong, but can you blame me for having a little bit of hope?

If things go right, that's the plan. I'm going to see about picking one up and having LE port it to match the TFS heads/LT4 Intake I'm getting ready to send. Provided I can get one, I'll have a ported for ported comparison on a blown motor while on the engine dyno. This should be happening in May or June if things keep progressing like they've been.
