XE 230/236 Questions

I have decided to go with teh XE 230/236 cam with 110LSA, and a 106ICL. I was told to go with Non-self aligning 1.6 RR's with guide plates, so is there any that you would personally recommend? Also is there a specific Timing chain you think would work well with the new cam?

go with comp pro mags Non SA. There are two choices for timing chains pretty much either you go with the extreme duty gm chain if you want the stock water pump, or you can go with a Cloyes double roller chain and a electric pump.

Did you have any issue with the valve cover clearance with the Pro Mags?Did they come with guideplates? And I probably will go with the Extreme-Duty chain now because I have heard some bad things about electric pumps.

You do have to trim the v.c. inside with either SA or NSA 1.6 Comp rockers AFAIK. It's not difficult though, you can just trim with tin snips. Do a search and there will be a pic or two for it, or someone else could chime in and post a link. From what i have read, the NSA's w/ guideplates are more reliable with higher lifts and higher rev's. I got my guideplates from Cmotorsports, they make good package deals.

Yep another vote for CMotorsports. I got almost all of my cam/head swap stuff from them for very good prices.
